Original nba ball

Can someone share original nbaball iff (ball_gameplay_official_nba_official.iff or whatever). I want to try it in NBA 2K25. Maybe it works. I really like its tone and color in 2k26, in 2k25 it's too dark for me, and I don't like balls mods for 2k25

Why not just download a ball mod for 2k25?

I explained this in the first post – I don’t like the available ball mods for 2K25 (they’re too bright for me, and the default one feels too dark). That’s why I’m interested in trying the ball from 2K26, which I really like in all aspects – color, tone, etc. (maybe it won’t work, but you never know until you try).

You could just as easily open the 2k25 ball in paint.net and modify it to your liking?

Cool, thanks, Later I’ll report whether it works

UPD. It works, but probably due to lighting changes it’s displayed incorrectly (also too dark) and with glitches. Thanks again anyway for sharing.

UPD. UPD. Hm, strange. In previous NBA2K versions it was enough to replace ball_official_colorXXXXXXXXX.dds in the default nbaball.iff from another mod, give it the original name of ball_official_colorXXXXXXXXX, and it worked. But here, when I replace ball_official_colorXXXXXXXXX.dds from the 2K26 ball and insert it into the 2K25 iff (after correct renaming), the ball doesn’t show up in-game — just emptiness. Structurally they look the same, so in theory it should’ve worked.

Just lighten the dds in the 25 one in paint.net or similar until you get the colour you like, that's what I'd do.
Or extract the 26 dds and drop into the 25 file and edit the SCNE file to reflect the file size\format. The 2k25 is 2048x2048 and the 2k26 is half that and 35 is also actually lighter\brighter imo

What dds parameters to choose when saving in paint.net?

I'd use the ones that are in my pic but you can check the ball_color part of the ball.SCNE

In Paint.net there is no BC1_UNORM format, and i can't choose number of the mips (12), which are in ball.SCNE

BC1 Linear then, there are only 2 choices, try both and see which works and tick 'generate mips'
