New To Forum and Modding and have some questions

Postby audieloco on Mon Sep 30, 2024 1:37 pm

Hey I’m Audie, new to 2k on PC along with modding and just have some questions with things like cyberfaces and courts.

I mainly play MyNBA and I’m planning on having multiple going on at once, so I’ve been wondering if I’m able to have different cyberfaces for the same people. For example if I had a MYNBA in the early 2000s and wanted one version of LeBron but also had one in the modern day and wanted another. Just wondering if those things cross over/interfere with each other, same thing with courts.

Also wondering if anyone knows when we might get people like Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller and if there will be full rosters I can download?

Either way I’m being patient and definitely wanna learn how to do some of this stuff at some point, but appreciate all the work you guys do to make this game even better!

The question you pose is very good, and I hope my answer resolves it for you. Let's see, each player in NBA 2K has an associated face ID. For example, LeBron James's face ID is 1013. In this example, we can find a younger version of LeBron James that is associated with another face ID: 4593. This means that, a priori, you can only use two versions for LeBron James in case you replace the files associated with both of these IDs. You might think that, for example, adding new cyberfaces with new IDs to your mods folder would work to have more versions of the same player. And you would be correct, but the downside is that the default mods folder currently only works with existing files, so we cannot assign new IDs at the moment. Generally, in recent years, we have had two essential tools for roster creation: the hook and NBA 2K Tools. The hook basically ensures that the hook folder works with new IDs and reads renamed files that do not exist by default, while NBA 2K Tools allows us to assign these new face IDs to any DNA. However, for now, we don’t know anything about this since NBA 2K25 is new gen for the first time, and the functioning of this is new to us. Looyh, who has been creating this for years, might be working on it, but I can’t confirm that yet.

On the other hand, regarding your second question, I recommend downloading the classic rosters from WizardsMJ. He is one of the best creators of retro rosters, and he has added both Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley. As for the cyberfaces, no one has created them yet. Currently, the plugin to work in Blender is paid, which is not accessible for many creators, and creating a cyberface takes time. In any case, without the hook, we still cannot add new IDs, so the only solution would be to replace current ones already in the game, which also means that not all new cyberfaces would work correctly, since assigning things like hair or facial models requires the hook to generate extra files for these types of elements. My recommendation is patience, because we still need that, and for now, I would suggest using the DNAs from WizardsMJ that are already available to add both players to your own roster.

Does this mean no CB and RM CF in 2K25 PC?

@Shuajota the ported CF for Miller from here https://www.mediafire.com/file/0n6bsy0njy1xfmh/[2K25]+Reggie+Miller+by+RazoR+[@shuajota].rar/file doesn't work with your 2K share import DNA
