replace 2k shoes without using custom roster or tool

Hi,

Some players like you all know use 2k shoes instead of branded ones. Is it possible to only replace that 2k shoe with one of my liking? I dont want to use a tool or a custom roster but simply replace the texture.

Yes it is.
Two ways, swap the style file (but you will have to create all the uid textures) or change the default shoe in shoe_global customshoedata. The second method is cleaner IMHO and I have done it to replace the generics with Jordan 1s or kobe VIs

np, is there a shoe you wanted to be the generic?

i wanted the generic shoe not to be generic basically.. so i used the shoeglobal.iff that was shared on that link (kobe one)

I tried using the generic 2k shoes to Kobe vi file but it did not change the 2k shoes for me. Does it need to be put in any subfolders or renamed?

Depends what you have downloaded, it should just be the shoe_global in mods.

I figured it out. The file I downloaded was named 2011 shoe_global.iff. It just has to be renamed to shoe_gloabal.iff and it worked. Thanks for this mod!

Ah yes, forgot I'd named it that!

Players still wear the default 2K boots as per the roster, but the look of the boots has changed with the new texture.

Which new texture? Have they changed the generic shoe in the new update?
