1. I didn't expect anyone to download the Kobe Era Roster, so thank you for that. I did a minor tweak on the live one (download in 2k25 if you want; it's not a big enough "update" to change here) to get Shaq to leave the Lakers if they don't win a championship, but it didn't work. If anyone has an idea, let me know; I have just been messing around in his sliders.
2. Outside of that, I have been working on draft classes from 2003 to 2024. I would post them, but I need/want permission from somebody. I uploaded 2003 and 2004 (to 2k25 servers) on my own and am comfortable with that, but only because I didn't use another draft class as the base. I did stumble upon a draft class "series?" when doing research from XvClutchOz/XvClutch-1. I tried searching that name on steam since I play on PC, but didn't find them. Maybe they are on this forum and will see. Anyways, I tweaked their draft classes. The biggest thing was simply that they overloaded the amount of badges the players have coming into the league, inflating their Ovr in most cases. I also added in some variance starting in 2014 because I thought it would be fun. What I mean by that is I went to their profile on NBA Draft Net.
I'll use Brandon Ingram as the example since I am currently working on him. His Draft Profile on Draft Net lists his "grade" as 99, so I set that as his Max Potential (Boom). His Overall coming into the league . . . let me edit his card in 2k . . . is a 77, so that will be his Minimum Potential (Bust). His "actual" potential, that he has hit so far, is an 86. I then calculate the potentials' percentage chances starting at a base of 33% for Min/Max and 34% for "actual" potential. Then I calculate (Max-Min)/2=X. I take X away from Max and add X/4 (or X/2/2) to Minimum and "actual." So in this example, It would look like (99-77)/2=11. So Max Potential chance is 22%, Minimum is (33+6) 39, and "Actual is (34+5; I do +5 on this instead of minimum because it feels more right to have minimum and "actual" equal) also 39%. So, all the numbers next to each other would be Min@77 w/a 39% chance, "actual"@86 w/a 39% chance, and Max@99 w/a 22% chance. I like this because in most drafts, only 10-14 players stay in the league, and maybe only 1 or two of them hit their Max potential (that is according to scouts). I want it to be kind of a crap shoot with most of the draft class failing, just like real life. So, maybe not real life results, but it will "simulate" real life.
3. Anyways, those are two of the things I've done to the draft classes, which isn't nothing, but XvClutch did save me A LOT of time, and I can't state that enough. It's not like they've copywrote these rosters, and under Fair Use, I would be able to post them legally here in America, but . . . morally? I already have "issues" with how this community handles ripping mods and just throwing credit to the creator, while still taking the ad revenue for posting it onto their own site. Not naming names, but we know who I am talking about. I want to post the draft classes here in a .zip file for preservation's sake.
- Edit: Well, I finished the basics. I am simming it all now to see how it goes, but I have DC's from 2003 to 2024.
- Update after day 1; this is a lot of fun to use. I don't think there is a lot of tweaking to be done here. Buuuuut... I used my own MySettings for the Sim... I know, but it turns out really well. Greg Oden is a beast, Curry got injured multiple times and became everything GMs were afraid of. Lebron Still went to the Finals like 9 times in a row, but never got his ring. So far, DeMarcus Cousins is looking like everything I've ever wanted - I think him and Greg Oden are the biggest what-ifs in recent memory, sorry Zion.
As far as MySettings, I followed the Barnsey's Progression settings from 2k19, but tweaked them a little bit. I also increase trade/morale/chemistry difficulty quite a bit. Injury chances/effects are ~60, length and career-ending injury chance are maxed out.
- Edit 2, 3? IDK. Anyways, I have updated my roster to include the draft classes.
