MyTEAM Courtside Report

All the details on what to expect from MyTEAM this year: https://nba.2k.com/2k25/courtside-report/myteam/

As usual, I'd recommend giving it a read for the full scoop, but here is my summary of the key information:

  • The Auction House returns in NBA 2K25 MyTEAM, and has been consolidated into one screen. This means no more backing out to other menus to check on bids and collecting won items.
  • Selected cards can also be searched via the Auction screen, to check prices before listing them.
  • Earning MyTEAM Rep will increase your My Auctions capacity.
  • There is a verification process for all auctions to ensure that they're on the level, and that no one is cheating the system. A zero-tolerance policy will be in effect.
  • Triple Threat Park makes its debut, serving as the home for Triple Threat Online and Triple Threat Online: Co-Op games. The setting is a remaster of the Rivet City courts that were found in NBA 2K16.
  • Nine courts are available in Triple Threat Park: four 2-player 3v3 courts, and five 6-player 3v3 courts, with two courts designated as "No Squad".
  • Triple Threat Park will include the ability to customise your Player Panel, displaying rankings, your first choice player card, and so on. It also features the Showcase Spot, which is essentially a way to show off your pack openings to other gamers in the park. The first use of the Showcase Spot every day will earn thirty minutes of 2X MyTEAM Rep.
  • Breakout is a new board-based single player mode in NBA 2K25 MyTEAM. After selecting a starting difficulty, gamers begin in the middle of the Breakout City board, and choose a direction to move in. Each area represents different modes, eras, and opponents, with the goal being to clear the challenges and "break out" of the board.
  • Games in Breakout also have single game objectives to earn additional rewards. The difficulty increases the further you move away from the middle of the city.
  • Clutch Time and Triple Threat Offline are now part of Breakout City, and have been retired as standalone modes. However, you can choose to exclusively play those modes on Breakout City boards.
  • Showdown is the new head-to-head competitive mode, consisting of games with four minute quarters and 13-player lineups. The goal is to advance from Tier 15 to Tier 1 by racking up wins against online opponents, with checkpoints protecting your progress. This includes not dropping down a Tier during a Season once you've advanced to it.
  • Achieving a few wins each week will earn the opportunity to select a reward at 8 PM Pacific Time every Friday. Rewards are Seasonal, and also depend on how many wins you've racked up.
  • The Leaderboards in Showdown only include Tier 1 players, representing the best of the best in the mode.
  • King of the Court is an event that will be held every Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM Pacific Time, beginning on September 14th. Gamers must qualify with their Showdown and Triple Threat Park scores, and will be rated on their performance in King of the Court games. Losing three games ends your run in King of the Court for the week.
  • Rewards earned in King of the Court depend on whether your score is in the Top 50%, Top 10%, Top 1%, or ranks you #1 as the King of the Court.
  • Challenges and Agendas have been combined into a new Challenges menu. In addition to granting rewards, they'll also quickly get you into the appropriate game.
  • As previously alluded to, MyTEAM Rep is being introduced in NBA 2K25. Similar to Rep in MyCAREER, it serves as a ranking system for bragging rights, and also earns rewards. It's also how the Auction House is unlocked.
  • At the end of July 2025, the top-ranked players will earn as yet unrevealed rewards for NBA 2K26.
  • A new tutorial has been added when starting out in MyTEAM, which also explains the basics of basketball and NBA 2K. It will unlock some bonus rewards, so even experienced players will likely want to complete the "tour".
  • Once again, the Starter Kit allows you to select a team, and receive branding and player cards representing that club.
  • The menus have been further streamlined for better navigation, whether you're looking for team management, the Auction House, single player modes, online modes, etc.
  • Legend Badges have been added, and as in MyCAREER, they're a level above Hall of Fame Badges.
  • Shoe Boost Cards have been replaced by Takeover Cards. Shoes are now customised with those Takeovers for additional boosts.
  • Certain Coach Cards will provide boosts to Badges and attributes alike. An indicator by the player's feet will inform you of when coaching boosts are active.
  • Coach Settings now include customisation of your Offensive Settings and situational On-The-Fly Lineups (Bench, Tall, Quick, Defense, Three Point, Free Throw, and Custom), and the ability to set your favourite plays.
  • Some Free Agent cards will have different game limits, beyond the traditional five game maximum.
  • Changes to branding can be applied to all saved lineups if you wish.
  • A filter to find your most recently collected cards has been added.
  • Collector Challenges primarily count cards that are "locked in". To that end, cards can now be locked in individually.
  • The Exchange has been overhauled with better functionality as far as finding the cards you need.
  • Multiple picks can be made at once on the Ascension boards, in order flip them all at once and save some time.
  • Most single-card reward packs will be opened automatically, rather than joining your unopened packs pile. A new fast open option has also been added.
  • Event cards now include a description of what they're for, cutting down on confusion and ambiguity.
