Thanks.

You are trying to run these games with a processor that came out over a decade ago (2014). From what I can see, your processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements for this game or Madden.

On top of that, you have a massive bottleneck with your graphics card, up to 45%. Your CPU can't handle the power of your GPU, so you are only getting roughly 50% of your overall graphics cards capable performance, and your CPU is being maxed out.

https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calcul ... ral-tasks/

I am guessing that this wasn't a pre-built, or it was and you added that card later? I would be surprised if a company sold a pre-built with that combination of CPU and GPU.

Also, your machine, because of your processor, is not mid tier. It would be closer to low tier.

But everything I stated above explains why you are having issues with both the new Maddens and the newest 2Ks. With your rig, constant stuttering, low FPS, and even crashing should be expected.

I currently have what would be considered a "mid tier" machine, same with my brothers rig. We have slightly better specs than the recommended requirements, and he spent under $1000 on his PC. We are both running NBA 2K25 on high/ultra with no stuttering (even on cutscenes), with smooth 60fps at 1080p.

I just don't want people looking into this thread and being mislead. This game is absolutely working well on mid tier PCs (according to the majority of feedback I have seen). I have 2K25 installed on three computers actually (because it's also on my laptop), all three with different graphics cards and processor's, I have had zero issues.

Mind you, all of our GPUs are AMD (6650 XT, 5700 XT and 7600). But I am still seeing positive responses related to mid tier Nvidia GPUS and above that also have a good processor.

Hey thanks for doing the research, and the link. What MOBO are you running? I didn't realize how much of a jump these computers made since then. My computer was a custom build, not store bought at that time. It was built in 2016 or 17, not 2014 but I get the point. So what do I need to replace, the mobo, processor and memory? So you reccomend AMD over Intel? You're correct about the video card. It was upgraded in 23 after the old one burned out. It's funny, because NBA2K 24 runs without a hitch on my machine. So what is the bottom line cost to upgrade the needed resources? I'm on a very tight budget.

Madden 24 was a PS5 port, same with NBA 2K25, so that added struggle with the old rig makes sense.

I am not a big fan of recommending a rig in particular, because there are so many options out there. Some people like Nvidia, some prefer AMD (I've always used AMD). But both can be great.

Look at the recommended specs for NBA 2k25 in the thread below, and decide from there. Andrew has a Nvidia GPU, and is slightly under the recommended specs for the game, but runs the game on medium at 1080p with no stuttering issues.

I can respect that. Are the three things I listed the components I need to replace? I'll decide on my own.

For reference, my specs:

i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz
32 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

That's an example of a mid-tier rig that'll run the game well on medium settings (which still look fantastic), and what to aim higher for if you'd like to get something more powerful.

this is a reference to put together a cheaper amd am4 system, since you already have a gpu and hard drive, just need to know how to install everything if you don't already, but there are videos that will show you how to

New patch, new gpu driver update and High level textures still don't appear during gameplay.
Even tried to install windows 10 on the other drive but the same issue appears again.

I've set all visual settings all to max, but game looks worse than older ps4 gen titles in visual quality during gameplay. Nowhere close to what i see on Youtube videos with 2k25 gameplay on pc. My cpu and gpu basically run idle at 10-20% usage to run game at 60 fps and it goes to over 240 fps if I uncap it.
Game seems to run "texture detail" setting at low regardless of how i set it. If i switch between low or high textures setting it makes no difference in visual quality. Probably some more settings don't "turn on" as i notice antialiasing is not existing too.
I have tried to reinstall gpu drivers and re-build shaders, but doesn't help.

My pc specs:
i5-12600K
RX 6800 16GB vram
32 gb ram
nvme drive
windows 11 pro

Hey! It sounds like you’re facing an issue where some graphical settings aren’t being applied properly, even though you’ve maxed everything out. Based on what you described, it seems like the game isn’t activating certain settings. Here are a few things you can try:

Check resolution scaling settings – Sometimes, games automatically downscale the resolution even when settings are maxed out. Make sure the game is running at your monitor’s native resolution and that scaling is disabled.

GPU software settings – If you’re using AMD’s Radeon Software, check if any options like Radeon Chill, Radeon Boost, or other power-saving features are enabled. These can limit the visual quality and performance even when in-game settings are high.

DirectX/Vulkan mode – Check if the game is running on the correct API (DirectX 11/12 or Vulkan). Sometimes, switching between these modes can affect how certain graphical settings behave.

Config files – There could be an issue with the game’s configuration files. Try locating the game’s settings folder (often in Documents) and manually delete the graphics config file so the game can generate a fresh one.

Windows Game Mode/Graphics settings – Check your Windows Game Mode and Graphics Settings to see if Windows is managing performance. Sometimes, Windows can limit GPU usage to save power or prioritize other apps.

GPU driver version – Since reinstalling drivers didn’t help, you might want to try a different version of your GPU drivers, like a beta or an older, stable release. Newer drivers don’t always work perfectly with every game.

Let me know if any of this helps, or if you notice anything else that could point to a different cause!

2k24 old gen was developed for ps4 Hardware. of course a game developed for a 2013 console is running just fine on 2014 Hardware. 2k25 on the other Hand was developed for ps5 so you at least need Solid 2020/2021 Hardware to run it.
