Anti Tamper

Hello, everyone!

My friend has been sharing a Steam account with me to play NBA 2K25 occasionally when he's not using it. He plays it cleanly, while I play with mods.

Earlier, my friend (the account owner) logged in and received an anti-tamper message. Could this be due to the mods I've installed and used? Mods were just global.iff, ball, courts, etc.

No other reports of mods triggering bans or anti-cheat warnings as yet, but I'm guessing a majority of people are using their own accounts. To that end, it could be a combination of the shared account and mods, or it might just be a false positive due to sharing the account. 2K certainly aren't infallible when it comes to things like that.

Hey Andrew, thanks so much for the response! We suspect the issue might be due to account sharing. My friend mentioned he also shares his account with another friend, and he has family sharing enabled for someone else who can access the game through another Steam account. But it's great to hear that it's still safe to use mods! Thank you.
