There are no plugins available yet for NBA 2K24, and they are not expected, at least in the short term.

That just seriously hurt my soul. Game is kinda pointless to play now without these insanely critical mods. At least it is for me. I hate the current NBA. I only play retro. But without the Roster Editor to access all those hidden historical players and being able to change arena names, edit teams, etc. etc., I guess it's back to 2K23 for me.

It's the reason why I'm working on a massive update for PCBasket in 2K23, in order to have a full '2K24' experience in 2K23.

I'm glad you're updating PCBasket. Excellent mod. If we aren't getting the Roster Editor this year, that sucks because the gameplay and shooting in NBA 2K24 is miles better than 2K23. I've actually been having fun just playing a game for the first time since 2K17. There are a ton a newly added retro players in 24 that are not in 23. Some teams too that we won't have access to without the editor. I had my donation ready too. :(

2k24 and 2k23 are two different games. Appreciate the massive update coming for 2k23, yet alot folks purchase 2k24, from transitioning from 2k22. Hence they never purchase 2k23 due to the massive and amazing mods that were released for 2k22. I do have a question for everyone. Does Noone else have the capability to create the plug ins, roster edit tools Looyh made? Will he share the knowledge so the community can learn? Just like modders who share different intel on modding for the better good? I'm realizing how much of a impact this has created.

Is there any way we can bring a 2023-2024 roster into mycareer mode for NBA 2K23 like limnono tool? It would be nice to have the copy and paste feature again.

This is why I don't plan on buying 2K24 until it's discounted. They always change things to thwart the modders on here that make the game better. I'm perfectly fine playing 2K23 with updated rosters. 24 couldn't be that much better except for a few more added animations. I bet some of the new mods like CF's, and courts, can't be transferred to 23 like in the past.

Mods are officially supported in 2K24. By 2K themselves. 24 and 23 are basically the same in terms of files and structure. Cyberfaces have already been ported back to 2K23 and courts and arenas and such are interchangeable between the 2 games. Gameplay is actually better than on 23 in quite a few ways. You actually get shooting foul calls again like we used to in 2K games from years ago. The issue we have is that the tools modders usually use for the game aren't available and may not be available. Hopefully they will be.

I get shooting fouls in 23, as well as a few and 1 fouls. It may not be as many as it should be, but they are there. I don't doubt shooting has improved, but if they don't make a editor for it, I'll stick with 23 because it has one. The editor is very important to me and I'm sure it is for other 2K players.

I bought NBA 2K24 on PC, and I haven't noticed any difference in terms of gameplay. 2K didn't announce anything regarding current-gen gameplay since all the new features are based on the exclusive ProPLAY technology for next-gen. So, I believe those changes are more of a placebo than anything else. Where I have noticed a difference is perhaps in the game being somewhat better optimized, and on PC with fewer resources, the game runs smoother.

Definitely not disagreeing with you. We definitely need the plugins and roster editor like last year. Was just pointing out that mods are officially supported.

I will agree with you that it is a much better optimized game, but it most certainly is not a placebo effect. On defense alone, without making any slider changes, I noticed some differences between 23 and 24. Like how your a.i. teammates actually rotate on defense instead of just watching the player you were guarding walk in for a layup. That was a major complaint that I've seen across many forums. Especially on Reddit. Shooting is different than last year and 2K did say that it was a change across all platforms. Not Next Gen exclusive. There's far less big men being able to stay in front of players like Kyrie or Steph, when in previous years, bigs could stay with them or magically accelerate when they were on a fast break or driving to the basket as if they were guards. Something people have complained about as well. Idk. Maybe I'm the only one seeing the differences.

This is not true at all. I have 2k24 on Steam as well. and the way the game plays its noticeable immediately that 24 gameplay is much better and much cleaned up. Game is not the same or a simple copy paste like some say. There are notable gameplay differences that are easily felt.

I agree Bliss. I believe the narrative I'm seeing atleast, is to pivot folks attention to stay with 2k23, being though 2k24 has know roster editor/tools this year. In which prevents modders from creating there amazing content i.e custom roster, draft class, etc. I agree 2k23 has a lot of updated mod projects, yet 2k24 has better gameplay in my opinion.

After the first Steam update, I've been playing more, and I have noticed a significant improvement. However, as far as I understand, Looyh doesn't have plans (at least for now) to work on 2K24 tools. There's a guy in my Discord group who says he will try to work on an editing tool so that I can port PCBasket to 2K24. We'll see if that is eventually possible.

We desperately need an editing tool. Playing 2K24 without that tool AND the multiple hairstyle switcher is driving me bonkers!!! PLEASE LOOYH I'll donate again!
