Note that reinstalling NBA 2K24 after the servers are shut down will leave you without the last official roster and tuning updates. On console, the only way to preserve them is to keep the game installed (at least as far as I know). On PC however, we can back up saved files and the data for the official updates:
- Go to your Steam installation folder. By default, this is at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam.
- Go to the userdata folder, and open the folder inside. You should now see folders for all of the games that you have saved data for.
- The folder you want is 2338770 (you can confirm this ID via the game's entry on SteamDB). It contains your NBA 2K24 save files and downloaded data for the official updates.
- Copy this folder to a safe place. If you've set up a backup routine via Windows or third party software, you can also add this folder so that's included in the process.
- If you ever need to reinstall NBA 2K24 after the server shutdown, copy this folder back to your Steam userdata folder to restore the official updates and saved files.
