What difficulty level are you playing on?

Postby Dee4Three on Fri Sep 16, 2022 6:55 am

Hi all,

Figured I would start a dialogue about default difficulty levels on NBA 2K23, and what you choose to play the most.

Obviously, this question only relates to the modes where you can choose it. Play Now, MyNBA, etc

Also, if you want to expand and give your reasons for choosing that difficulty level, that would be helpful.

Thanks!

I always play on All-star. I feel like the differentiation between good and great players kind of diminishes as you approach the extremes (either Rookie or Hall of Fame). On HoF, CPU ratings are increased across the board, but since there is a 99 cap for each attribute, Steph Curry for example will get only a little better on 3 pointers while Draymond will get much better. To me, All-star strikes a good balance in that aspect, since the attributes do not change as much.

To make the game more difficult, I prefer to increase CPU's offensive and defensive awareness to 100, while keeping the User's at 50. It makes CPU players play to their strengths, without boosting their attributes. Sometimes I even decrease the User's def. awareness to around 35-40, which makes my players dumber at the defensive end. This is kinda cool in my opinion, since it forces me to react to offball defensive mistakes and adjust them by myself, instead of focusing solely on onball D.

It is not as challenging as playing on HoF, but I like it better that way.

Even after more hands-on time and getting used to the game, I've kept MyCAREER on Pro simply to streamline the grinding process so that my MyPLAYER is viable for online. When I switch over to a MyNBA at some point, I'll increase it so that I have a challenge rather than the path of least resistance for quicker grinding.

Regular season - All Star
Playoffs - Superstar
Finals - Hall of Fame

I want to feel the jump of speed and competition going into playoff basketball. I also need the challenge to feel I earned the ring in the finals.

That's a cool way of approaching it, ramping up the challenge and intensity.

I only play my league and play now with my kids. I play on HOF and have adjusted sliders for more realistic feel. I only do it for the challenge all other modes are way to easy. Sometimes HOF is to easy depending on the team your playing. I try and do rebuilds with non play off contending teams and try to win championships. This year the dribbling mechanics are sweet but you really have to slow down and pay attention to what your doing if you want to blow by the A.I. Luka is ridiculous this year dropped 49 with ease against computer on HOF and above.
