Mods for 2k22

Postby bluesox on Mon Aug 05, 2024 2:39 am

I have a long list of questions, as I recently redownloaded 2k22 because I cannot do what I want in 2k24 because of certain systems they implemented as of 2k23.

To preface, I DO NOT have a cracked version of the game. I bought the game when it was newly released on steam and have reinstalled it from my steam library. So lets get that out of the way.

Question #1: Because the game's online support has been removed, is there a way to import custom rosters and draft classes from a locally stored file, and how do I do it.

Question #2: As previously mentioned, the game no longer has an online function, is there a way to access MyCareer still like in earlier 2k games, or am I now permanently locked out of that content.

Question #3: Is there a mod, or a tool, that will randomly generate a fictional draft class complete with random cyberfaces, or, do I have to do that manually for every year (In MyLeague). If yes, where do I get it.

Question #4: MyLeague+ was in development for 2k22, however I cannot find any traces of it outside of some older videos from TGSoGood.

Question #5: This might not fall into the traditional "Mods" Category, but, have the mods that DominusIV used in this game in the past (Specifically Super Ankle Breaker and like the 1M overall) been made public yet, or tutorials on how to do such things been made?

Question #6: How do I upload my own logos to the game for team creation and such things. For example, I created a modern mockup for the Vancouver Grizzlies, Seattle SuperSonics, and the Charlotte Bobcats logos for arena design but do not know how to import them into the game.

I know this game is old now, and 2K25 is just around the corner, but even an answer to only one of my questions would be incredibly helpful.

Thank You :D

Question #1: Because the game's online support has been removed, is there a way to import custom rosters and draft classes from a locally stored file, and how do I do it.

A: Yes. It's pretty simple to do. TGsoGood has some tutorials posted about this very thing.

Question #2: As previously mentioned, the game no longer has an online function, is there a way to access MyCareer still like in earlier 2k games, or am I now permanently locked out of that content.

A: I don't think so?

Question #3: Is there a mod, or a tool, that will randomly generate a fictional draft class complete with random cyberfaces, or, do I have to do that manually for every year (In MyLeague). If yes, where do I get it.

A: No. You have to apply the cyberface IDs yourself via 2ktools. I have a few draft classes I could send.

Question #4: MyLeague+ was in development for 2k22, however I cannot find any traces of it outside of some older videos from TGSoGood.

A: That's a question for Looyh. Since he made that.

Question #5: This might not fall into the traditional "Mods" Category, but, have the mods that DominusIV used in this game in the past (Specifically Super Ankle Breaker and like the 1M overall) been made public yet, or tutorials on how to do such things been made?

A: Those are paid mods. Likely from eyeuc. I don't have access to that stuff so can't help you there.

Question #6: How do I upload my own logos to the game for team creation and such things. For example, I created a modern mockup for the Vancouver Grizzlies, Seattle SuperSonics, and the Charlotte Bobcats logos for arena design but do not know how to import them into the game.

A: You have to replace the existing logo.iff files in your game or create a new logo.iff file in your mods folder. Usually replacing a few DDS texture files within the files (your logos basically) and making sure you save them correctly. Then you edit the team via 2ktools and add the applied logo.iff as the main logo, secondary logo, etc. It's not that complicated to do in all honesty.

Just curious: What was special about 2K22 compared to 23/24? Do you just like the gameplay better? The only major downgrade from 22 to 23 was the removal of instant green indicators. I loved the 22 shot meter.

Gameplay wise, 2k23 and 2k22 are similar. The detail of mods available for 2k22 is better though, in my opinion. And outside of cyberfaces (which conversions were simple for), many of the mods created for 2k23 work for 2k22, but not the other way around. So the level of detail in all the arenas and games is just far better.

That said, I dp think 2k24 made huge improvements and is by far the best gameplay on current gen. However, by the time that rolled out, I was fatigued with not getting the new gen version, and ended up just using it as nothing but resource for stuff to add to 2k22. I'm still currently working on 2k22 and using the newer games to add things to this one.

Obviously it's all subjective though. So it's all a matter of personal preference.

Everyone's entitled to their personal preferences, but what are you referring to here? I've never encountered an arena for 2K20 thru 2K24 that doesn't work on 2K23. Even many 2K19 arenas work (never tried 2K18, but I think that may be the cut-off point). If I'm not mistaken, courts and arenas should be totally cross-compatible from 2K20 to 2K24. Jerseys are also cross-compatible from (IIRC) 2K19 to 2K23, with the only change in 2K24 being to the tweak files.
