features - really nothing , pretty much same game except some new additions to MyTeam and MyCareer, Park seems to be better on current gen than it is on the City. 4/10

Graphics- same :/ - no difference so no ratings

Gameplay - MUCH BETTER than 2k21. You feel much more involved with the game than in any of the other games that came out after 2k16. Shooting is fine, AI Defense is much more improved (even tho I would say that on college it was kinda to the point of frustrating sometimes ) and the dribbling feels more fluid than last years. 8/10

they also added some little stuff like new haircuts and the online feels fine for me.

overall I would say it is the game we all should've gotten years ago.

I cashed in when I read that defense and responsiveness are much better this year. Most of the negative comments on Steam are more about it being stuck on current gen

bought it and just waiting on it to finish installing, I'll be happy to hear if there's been improvements made to the gameplay, one thing I would've really like but wasn't expecting was tattoos for created players on current gen, I feel like the experience would be way better with created/generated players showing more variety and not have the glaring issue of no tattoos for anyone. Fictional CFs are a thing of course and have been made easier such as the Mixer tool & the spreadsheets made to generate them, but it's something that would've definitely been welcomed

Is foot planting there in current gen? It's introduced in NBA2k21 next gen. The sliding motion sucks

How is the P&R defense? Is it improved like next gen version?

Next gen impressions. Coming off of last gen, played 2K21 briefly after getting it with a discount or something.

Gameplay feels pretty decent, the defense is actually not as frustrating as in previous 2Ks. That said, offensive AI of my teammates is sometimes a giant headscratcher - AI is just being more A than I. Example being repeatedly dribbling out the clock and forcing a bad shot due to time instead of I dunno... moving.

The city - I'm almost surprised how much I don't mind it. Maybe it's because you get the skateboard and can move around fairly fast... Combined with the fact that loading in and moving around is actually decently excused by you actually going somewhere where it matters. If you want to, you can just spawn in your apartment and go through the menu into team practice or next match.
The music career path is kinda interesting so far and at the moment I got a DJ station as a reward which is a nice gimmick.
The fashion career path is more whacky, the walks are cringy, but so far it's decently intriguing to see where it will lead.

Quick note, I took the college route, then declared for the draft and went to combine, managing to get me the #1 pick. Then I learn Dwayne Casey hates my unqualified OVR 65 ass and wants me to be benched which to be honest I agree with. At the same time I liked the choices I was given, felt like I could really get different outcomes even if they're likely meaningless in the long run.
Some things I wish were explained better. The college vs. G league was explained perfectly. The choice between the two agencies was not.

Graphics - I don't care. 2K doesn't have much room for improvements unless they change their art style, which is something they definitely don't need to do.

Thanks for the reviews. I guess the defense has improved, that's a plus. Do the players rotate to shut down those red carpet drives to the hoop? I was tired of seeing that in 21. I'm still on the fence about getting it.

I will not encourage anyone to get it, because it is essentially a cut and paste.

But the gameplay is night and day to last years.

Last years game was absolutely soulless, and it just felt like you were simply running up and down the court. Ive never been so bored playing a game. I put 6 or 7 hours in tops. It was atrocious.

This one feels reminiscent of 2k16. The players do exactly what you want them to do. The dribbling is better, more like 2k20.

The most important change, I felt was speed differential. If a point guard gets a big man on an island, he is dog food. Without any dribble moves, just pure speed.

I have waited for this for so long, and its criminal that it took this long.

Gameplay is slower, which is nice, players feel heavy.

Defensive position works better, I havent seen a lot of sliding through your bigmen or perimeter guys.

The shot meter, is fine, but Im old school, I think shot meters in a basketball game are vomit inducing, so I immediately turned it off. Cant give any real feedback on it.

No feedback on the online or career portions either, im a strict offline/ franchise player.

Franchise is unchanged, sorry to say.

Dribbling is a bit canned, but shorter, so more room for improvisation. Putting the signature sizeup and the pro stick shooting on the same up input still seems absurd to me, but seems they are sticking to their guns.

Graphics, unchanged. I mean seriously, not one difference. You would never be able to tell whether this was 2k22 or 2k20, looking over a shoulder.

Honestly, they just reversed all the missteps of 2k21 and are charging you for the privilege of playing your 2 year old game again, with a different opening spash screen.

If you get a fantastic deal on black Friday, Im not gonna look at you funny. But this is a $20 game for pc vets.

Dont feel you are missing out on anything if you skip it.

Thanks for the impressions. I haven't purchased the pc 2k22 yet. Looking forward to more people's impressions.

I was wondering, Da Czar says that the post up double team is currently disabled. But I can't tell if it is just 2k22 next gen or 2k22 pc.

Anyways, if somebody could fire up the 98 jazz and throw the ball into Malone into the post, and see if they doubled Malone in like 3 seconds. was horribly fast in 2k20 and 2k21.

Anyways, looking for more impressions. Thanks.

Still on the fence about whether to bother getting this on pc... In myNba is the G-league and Play in games now included? How many of the next gen game features are we getting really? I have heard the game play is better though. Graphics don't bother me because of mods. Disappointed that we have lost some more retro players. Just more work to make retro season mods. Any additions to the Staff like Next Gen?

When I used my current Knicks, against the Wiz, they doubled Julius in the post almost immediately. I think he dropped 6 points before the doubles came.

Im not sure if it was simply because Hachimura is a trash defender though.

I didnt notice it as much when I was playing the Suns.

We dont get MyNBA, we get Myleague, I'm r whatever its called. MyNBA is a next gen only thing if I recall correctly.

This game is current gen across the board, if you wxpect anything beyond that, you are setting yourself up for failure.

Does anyone think that the movement speed can be duplicated in 2k21 using sliders?

Played NBA2K22 (PC) last night via Parsec (Thanks Dee4Three) and my first impressions seems to be "2K21.5" gameplay wise. I did noticed some new animations but that's about it. However all these positive comments about it made me scratch my head:

Read here: https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-2k21/bask ... t-creators
One YouTube review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj5hE3cNH_I

...some are calling it; top 3 or 4 of 2K of all time...straight 2k16 vibes....2K17 level. :?: :!: :?:

maybe I need to play it more...or maybe all this comments relates to the console version (PS5, XBOX Series X..Switch)?

Yeah, I am in the same boat as you.

I am seeing people try to compare it to 2K16 and 2K17, even aspects of the gameplay. Current gen and next gen play nothing like 2K16 or 2K17.

The game is still broken but it's not as bad as 2021. During initial load up, game play seems to be fine. CPU plays defense, players move with weight, speed of the game feels slow. After a few games in, just like all previous versions, the game breaks and all of a sudden the speed becomes very fast. The only difference is that the defense doesn't break like in 2021. In 2021 when the speed break, the CPU defense also breaks and you can drive to the hoop at will. Now even when the speed breaks, CPU still plays solid defense. But the speed break is annoying because players no longer have any weight to them.
