(PC) Is it possible, through sliders, to get more swishes?

Postby KyotoCarl on Tue Sep 21, 2021 12:14 pm

I'm noticing that 2K22, on PC, has the same, in my opinion, problem as 2K20; that you don't get many swishes on shots. I've tried both Shot Timing and Real FG% but I get 90% shots that hit the rim before going in instead of swishes. Is it possible to get more swishes by adjusting the sliders, but not making it easier?

There aren't any sliders for that.

Yes I know, but I was wondering if someone had figured out a way anyway. Or is there any other way to do it?

There aren't any other settings that govern it. Green Releases with User Timing should result in a good amount of swishes. You can also try turning the meters off for an additional boost to shooting. Hitting the perfect timing window should still yield plenty of swishes.

Thank you for the suggestions! Which meters are you referring to though to get an additional boost to shooting?

The Shot Meter, though I believe in both versions this year, this also disables all other displays including the icons for Icon Passing, so it may not be an ideal solution. But yes, if you turn all the player indicators and shot meters off, you'll be granted a small boost to shooting.

He can turn off the shot meter without all the other icons going away

If he wants to turn off the dunk/alley-oop meters, he would have to turn off gameplay indicators, which would remove all icons

Turning just the shot meter off works as it always did before.

Ah, that's right. In that case, I'd recommend giving that a try.

I haven't had a chance to sit down and play in several days, but one thing I want to experiment with is using Shot Timing Impact = 0 as basically Real Player % with swishes. With User Timing On, I did zero that slider out once without adjusting anything else and shot around a bit like I would with Real Player % (i.e., not the slightest bit of attention to timing). Plenty of swishes. What I want to experiment with is seeing if dropping the Shot Success sliders to a certain point will result in equivalent makes/misses to Real Player %, while preserving the greater swish frequency since it'd be on User Timing. Just haven't had a chance to mess around with it much. Maybe something you can play around with though.
