Name Recognition

I looked but couldn't find anything on this issue. I cant seem to get the announcers to recognize my name. It's been recognized on 2k20 and 2k21. Both my first and last name were used in NBA games during the my career mode. This year with 2k22 I am only referred to as MP. Is there no name recognition? Any help would be appreciated.

How far along are you in the mode? It's possible they're forcing the MP name until a certain point in the story (they kind of did it with Junior in NBA 2K21). Alternatively, they might've removed name recognition in MyCAREER this year. If so, it wouldn't be the first time that a minor detail has fallen by the wayside in subsequent years.

I'm about 25 games into my first NBA season. I'm betting it's not in the game this year. I know it's a minor thing, but I enjoyed hearing my actual name while playing the game. I appreciate your reply Andrew.

I named my player "Malcolm Palmer" and they have mixed in calling him "MP" and "Palmer" at times.

Huh. Are you current or next generation? I'm on Xbox one. Did you have to make any particular settings to do this?
