- MyTEAM: Draft is a new multiplayer mode wherein gamers pick a full lineup of cards, including the latest releases.
- When starting a new Draft, you'll receive seven packs to open, and choose two cards to keep from the first six packs.
- The seventh pack in a Draft is the Featured Pack, which will contain three cards including the latest themed releases.
- Competing in MyTEAM: Draft will guarantee a prize of a League Pack and a single pick on the Draft-exclusive Ascension prize board. Other prizes will be available and cycle with the Seasons in MyTEAM. In Season 1, the Grand Prize for MyTEAM: Draft will be a Pink Diamond Glenn Robinson.
- Triple Threat Online now features The 100. At the beginning of each TTO run, gamers will have 100 points. After each game, the amount of points you gave up - win or lose - will be subtracted from that total. Once you hit zero, you're back at the bottom tier of prizes.
- One of the aims of The 100 is to allow every player to at least reach the second tier of prizes, even if they lose every game.
- Weekly and Moment Challenges have been replaced by Pick-Up and Skill Challenges in NBA 2K22 MyTEAM.
- Pick-Up Challenges involve daily games against teams that are generated according to your current lineup. The better your lineup, the more challenging the generated opponent. Conversely, if you're still building up your squad, the generated opponents will be weaker in order to provide a fair match-up.
- Skills Challenges are similar to the old Weekly and Moment Challenges. These include replicating real life feats and statistical goals.
- Getting the win in Skills Challenges is optional, as the challenge ends when it's achieved. Rematches are also now allowed, in order to quickly retry a challenge if it's out of reach.
- It's possible to complete Skills Challenges out of order, and thus complete groups at your own pace.
- Spotlight Challenges include both 5v5 and 3v3 games. There will be 20 Spotlight Challenges at launch, featuring the four NBA 2K22 cover players.
- Event Cards have been added in NBA 2K22 MyTEAM. These special cards will represent MyTEAM events, and great moments in the league.
- There will be two $250,000 MyTEAM tournaments this year: one for Current Gen, and one for Next Gen.
- As previously confirmed, there will be cross-progression between consoles of the same family. This includes cards, VC, MT, Tokens, and general progression.
- Holo Player Cards are the rarest cards to collect this year. They have identical stats to their regular version, but are tied to special Challenges. Every card that can be auctioned has a chance at being a Holo card upon being pulled, so it's not just the Dark Matter, Galaxy Opal, and Pink Diamond cards that will be rare collectibles.
- There will be a card grading system, similar to real life card collecting. Graded cards will grant bonus MT in games they're used in.
- Shoe Cards are no longer tied to specific boosts. Instead, gamers can apply their own boosts to Shoe Cards using the new MT Shoe Lab. Each shoe colourway in the game will now also have a Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond variant.
- There are five choices for MyTEAM starters: Jayson Tatum, Donovan Mitchell, Nikola Jokic, Trae Young, and Zion Williamson.
- After fully evolving a starter card, a new Lifetime Agenda will provide the opportunity to collect another starter card. As such, for the first time in MyTEAM, it will be possible to collect all of the starter cards. Fully evolving all the starter cards will earn a Phil Jackson coach card.
- Bronze and Silver Player Cards have been removed, with all players now being Gold or higher.
- The MyTEAM Base Set is a collection of current and all-time great players that will be available from launch, making legends more accessible much sooner (albeit not the most powerful version of their cards).
- Any jersey can now be selected as the home uniform. Both an away and alternate uniform are also designated, in order to avoid colour clashes.
- Court floors and arenas are now separated, in order to facilitate deeper customisation. Alternate court cards are also now collectable.
- Earning current team branding cards now involves playing with players from a team and completing Lifetime Agendas.
- Collector Levels return in NBA 2K22 MyTEAM, with rewards for hitting milestones in your collection.
- Streamers, real players, and celebrities will be verified with logos in online games, similar to MyCAREER.
- Agendas return with seasonal challenges, and many opportunities to earn XP. Tracked Agenda items will pop-up during gameplay, to remind you of your current goals.
