just take the default NewScorebug.VCUIELEMENT file from the 2k21 scoreboard and put it into your 2k20 scoreboard, it has to have been made from the 2k20 scoreboard file though, 2k19 won't work probably

Works on 19 created scoreboards too. Both my RSN and TSN I made for 19 and they look great. The notification panels are a bit off but will be an easy fix. Thanks for the help.

well, i don't own the game (haha, what is new)... will pick it up perhaps sometime

the text pointer in hex has been the same for 2k17-2k20 ... as passed down from exrxixxx (2k20 marker: 00 81 02 02 00 00 00 00 00 d1 e6 9e 42) ... well more specifically the [d1 e6 9e 42]

anyways, text pointer is found in the 2k21 element.... and very suspicoulsy the 2k20 tricode are found in the 2k21 vcuielemnt. so those could possibly be the location (perhaps it is the same hex location)

EDIT: Image below is the 2k21 vcuielement... just noting the location of the text marker [d1 e6 9e 42] and then the hex that matches the 2k20 tricode


whether these are the true tricode locations will need to bed tested.

but the titlecard2.iff is the same (https://imgur.com/tLEqwdq) .... so should be eay enuf to open that up and look for d1 e6 9e 42 then try the values after that.

every like iff scene of whatever from 2k20 should work in 2k21 if you just replace the vcuielement, thats how i got the watermark and breakboard to work

but yeah, just gonna have to search the titlecard2.iff for [d1 e6 9e 42] then the next 4 hex ... insert into the newscorebug vcuielement

the general structure of 2k20 vs 2k21 scorebug vcuielement is still the same ... just look somebody came through and condensed the code for 2k21... perhaps got rid of old enter or tab breaks or spaces.... the order of items is same in both files.... even uses the same hex phrases... but lots of extra zeros in 2k20 .... no zeros in 2k21 ..... new programmer didn't like all the spaces/enter line breaks/ tabs .... and just cleaned up the code.

anyways, good luck.... could be in other parts of the element.... but since the structure is identical... perhaps you will get lucky in that section after "game mode pro am walk on"

I figured out the wipe situation. It is tied into the gooeyoverlaysstatic.iff. Here is a screenshot of a quick TNT wipe I made.



I overwrote these files in that archive. I may not have had to overwrite all three, but this method did work. Either way, we can make wipes now.

the top half of the vcuielement file is json
no idea what the bottom half is and so that is why we hex edit it

see how it goes all nice and structured into whatever is going on in the bottom half

so I just try to find out what the 4 byte blocks mean and label them in hex editor

a lot are crc32 s for things but some are floats and some I have no idea and haven't figured out in the past 3 years but swapping things around even when I don't know exactly what they mean has been working so far

2k21 Wipe FIX

You're right, what seems off-center to me, like more to the right, they don't appear in their original position, and I did it with several wipes, putting all these files, but nothing, in all the same hahaha, this is to go crazy. Any idea what to edit?

By the way, I tried in the scorebug to change in the vcuielement as they said to put the names of the teams and I got it, thanks, which now I don't know how it was to put the color of each team in the scorebug, another madness hahaha, in this forum you never stop learning. Where can I look to know how to make the colors of each team appear?

I tried to follow the tutorial notes you made in the 2k20 modding section on how to fix team colors for older scoreboards. I found the fx coloring my 2k19 scoreboard opt scne file under team_away but in 2k20 and 21 there isnt the same option. There is team_primary_away. I assumed that was it but when I copied the parameters from 2k21 over to my 2k19 It didnt work.

Ive posted them so they are working for 2k21 other than team color and I'm not sure I personally care lol but I'd like to fix them for the TSN and Roger's sportsnet boards I made for others to use.
