Generic shoe mod?

HI
I'm trying to change the generic shoe but for every shoe model I rename to use as the generic, it won't colour the parts correctly.
For Eg I converted the air max low and it replaces the model fine but it won't colour the swoosh for eg.
I also tried the Air Force 1 and others with the same issue?
I guess I need to rename the parts in the _ed but even doing that nothing changes or the whole shoe goes invisible.
