Should I repurchase this game?

a little backstory. i bought NBA 2K21 Standard Edition in Steam when autumn sale 50%.
nearly 2 weeks later i got banned. i cant access online anymore.
so what now? should I repurchase on a different steam account or go back to cracked version? the banned status is final after just 5 minutes appeal on 2ksupport.

We're not about to advocate for the cracked version here, and discussing it is against our rules. I realise people are going to do what they're going to do in that regard, but just putting it out there as a reminder.

As far as solutions we can discuss here, that leaves purchasing the game again on another Steam account and to that point...I mean, how much do you enjoy it, and playing online? If you're really into it and you've got the money, then I guess you can justify the purchase, especially if you can get it on sale again. Besides, if you want to play online, then another legit copy is your only course of action, anyway. If you're not interested in playing online anymore, then you should be able to keep playing the copy you have. You'll just get nagged by the ban notice every now and again, I believe.

The other option would be to pursue the issue with 2K Support further, possibly via their Twitter. What did you get banned for? If it's fairly innocuous then it might be worth raising a bit more of a stink over. Of course if it's a blatant violation of the terms of service, you mightn't have much of a leg to stand on. You could possibly demand a refund depending on how many hours you've played and the circumstances behind the ban, which if nothing else, could go towards repurchasing the game on another Steam account if you choose to do that.

About buying the game again, as Andrew said, I think if you only play online, of course, it's worth it, otherwise, keep your current original version banned ....

well im purchasing the game in itself is supporting the dev. i tried ytd on refunding through steam but no luck cause even though my 2 weeks refund window isn't up yet, i have played 120ish hours in this game. that being said, if 2K isn't even willing to attach prove that I cheat or stating my exact violation of TOS/EULA then they can still rollback my MyPlayer account or giving chance using another email. this is my first time playing legit game and this is what i got. sad.
about the game copy in my steam library, if I buy the family sharing account (offline) can I still get regular update?

Possibly. I'm not sure if you're locked out of all online content, or just the modes.

i too am banned, however i have a simple question. have the putthe rookies in the game yet? it seems like the shouldve by now, but since i cannot access anything online i was just wondering and contemplating a rebuy. oh im on pc.

I don't know, I'm not banned so I can't say. Those updates come through the Steam client rather than in-game so maybe they'll still come through, but given everything else, it's possible they're blocked on your account as well. fordtech99 could probably confirm that either way.
