Thought I could add in a few details for those who'd like to get the game. NBA 2K21 will be free on the Epic Games Store until May 27th. As long as you claim the game before the deadline, it will stay in your library permanently.

After playing the blunder that is 2K21 next gen, I've dived back into NBA 2K20 on PC not too long ago to continue an old MyLEAGUE save file using one of Thunder Shaq's rosters. Assuming that Epic handles the game files similar to Steam to allow mods, I think I'll give this a whirl and check out what has been released in the modding section.

Indeed. Aside from the small thrill of getting something for free, there wouldn't be much point claiming a free copy if you already own it. For anyone who doesn't have it and wants a free version legally that'll get updates and have full online access, the offer is there to take advantage of.
