Help identifying crash?

Hi,
I have been using my NBA 2k20 modded with no issues for a long time now. I recently downloaded the retro roster and replaced some files in the directory and i think this might be the cause for the crashing. I tried to replace with all original files, and everyting seems to be running smoothly, but just with no warning what-so-ever with no clear patter, my game just closes out with no error message or anything.
I have a high end computer and do not think it is a graphics issue. Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Is it possible to do a clean reinstall without losing my game data? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it seems to reinstall with all of the same files and folders that i have in there from modding.
