BTW, here's a preview of the 1st model I'll upload for donators: Kobe 4 Protro FTB

Don’t get me wrong, I’m more than happy donating to you for your awesome project, but future releases predicated on payment leaves too many people out in the cold and likely run contrary to the rules.

After sharing for 2 years a mod with more than 750 modded shoes and hundreds (believe me it's been hundreds) of hours of work each I consider this a kind of unfair comment. I mean, do you really believe the versions I've released aren't big or good enough? I just wanted to be thankful with those who made the effort to donate by giving them away 5-6 models (out of 750!). But seriously, if it's something that bad I'll send the previews through PM.
1.1 version has been released. It includes those new shoes added in the last 2K update: Nike Kyrie 6, Nike Alphadunk, Kobe AD NXT Fast Fit and UA Spawn Low 2. More info and link in the 1st post

You're entitled to your opinion no doubt. But I disagree. I've seen a lot of great modders over the years quit for many reasons. One of them being related to how much time they had to put into it. If a small donation helps keeps some of these amazing modders around. Im more than happy to contribute. He's giving people who dont wanna donate free great content as well. To each is own. Nothing wrong with giving bonus content to those who decide to contribute more.

pastrami1993 wrote:Hi, I'm kinda confused here since I've never installed a shoe mod before. I downloaded the layers file for 1.0 and put them into my existing global file easily enough. Now I just downloaded the 1.1 file with the "shoes" folder and "shoes_global.iff" file and I'm guessing I can drop these into my modded folder like any other mod.
I guess my question is that since the files in 1.1 wouldn't override any files I have in my modded folder, was there any point to me adding the layer files from 1.0 into my global? Sorry if this is a dumb question lol

Everyone here has things they like and dislike about how one releases their mods but I believe members going onto a modders post to critique their methods creates an air of animosity. Andrew does a pretty good job of monitoring these post and addressing infractions. If SeanBarkley's donation shoe thing is against the rules he should be the one to address it because if Andrew decides that it's good then the modder may have a bad taste in his mouth about the member who addressed the issue. I guess it can be a slippery slope.

Discussion does not equal animosity at all. We don’t all have to act like victims here all the time. People can be adults and discuss things that are relevant to the betterment of this community. I voiced an opinion and have since reached out to Andrew for further clarification. If I’m incorrect and donation exclusive content doesn’t approach a rule violation than I’ll gladly walk back my statements. I’m simply trying to determine the scope of the rules.
To me, this is no different than a user like Arteezy who has both free mods and paid mods. The free content is welcome here but creators with paid content have repeatedly been told it’s a violation of rules. I don’t see a differentiation between that and donation exclusive content but perhaps Andrew can clarify.
If that’s the case then I could release my draft class as only the lottery and the remaining prospects are donation exclusive. That just sounds like paid content with further steps. Nobody is arguing it’s not time consuming and a commitment, but that doesn’t somehow bestow a requirement of payment. Many people mod because they enjoy it and get nothing of monetary value in return. Paid mods have been discussed at length not his forum but the general consensus is that it’s a problem. If that’s changed then it’s something the community should be aware of.

I don’t know if I’m understanding the question right but from what I guess my shoe file just overrides the SHOE files inside sync, but the rest of the files inside sync, like uniforms, should remain intact.
