Also if you're interested I've made a texture for your ESPN scoreboard, I wanted to test it out myself self but I have no idea what settings to save it in photoshop in order for the game to read it or for it to not get compressed and look like crap in-game. Here's what it looks like, I kept the pattern you had and just went off of the references posted.

for the scoreboard, you can do a dds with no compression with generate mini maps ... that gives best quality, but makes the size large.
or you can do the bc7 (dx11) compression with generate mini maps.

the team color needs to be black (255,255,255) on the b88_scorebug.dds and then the pattern goes on the team_home dds and team_away dds... just take a look into the newscorebug.iff with 7zip to see all the dds files.

anyways, if you post the psd, i can get it into game. or you can open the newscorbug.iff with 7zip and take a look at the dds textures.

but yeah, the texture looks great. i would love to add it to the scorebug and give you full credit.


edit: you did such a good job on the texture... if you get it into game, you could tweak the away team color & home team color based on what you think looks good. as well as the foul box texture. the home & team colors that i did are close, but could use further adjustment with the gradient fade. Again, your texture is so much more impressive than mine i'm not too proud to admit that, hahahah

edit2: i downloaded the png from imgur... but there's some compression from their space saving algorithm. i know that ImBB (https://imgbb.com) never compresses
... anyways, take a look at this psd and you'll see what i mean about home / away team color.... I would love it if you would adjust those textures in game... they are a bit finicky to make look nice.

Thanks, man, been really wanting to try out and contribute to the community just didn't know where, as I have pretty limited knowledge with blender. I'll go check on some of the team files your talking about but I'll just attach the PSD here as I know you'll do a much better job with adding it in-game.

I'm writing this as I just opened my psd and found out all my layer work has been merged, probably on my end when I was trying to save DDS files. hope you can still salvage something out of it. Really bummed about having merged them.

Edit 2: Played around with the files you talked about and was finally able to import the textures in-game without compression and I think I got it looking just about right. Thanks man! and let me know what you think.

Thanks, man. I will upload the files when I'm done with a few finishing touches. I still want to try and edit the breakboard, intro animation, playoff box, and other textures to have a consistent look. but have no idea what or where some of them are used for haha

haha just make backups.

the foul and playoff box can't be transparent... gotta have a solid color as base because they slam on top of each other... so if the foul box is transparent... you will wee the playoff text underneath.

But yeah, just dig around in the iff files and make backups every once in a while

I figure anything on the internet is going to only end up 2 places: 1) teaching somebody something about texture work or modding and 2) sold by some person in a far away place that $20 means alot more to their personal life than to mine.
hell, most of patreon is money laundering anyways.

It's good really, anyone is welcome to come along and try to improve the textures. No need to credit . Worst case scenario, everyone gets scoreboard variations they want which I don't really feel like is a bad thing. haha

Howdy Monja,

could you adjust the team color textures.

for the scoreboard base-- you can use black to gray to light gray -- within that spectrum

then, for the team color dds ... just white base with edge shaders....

or whatever combination looks good .... same process as last time





we can have team color for logo .... or white color for logo.....
they are in different folders in attachment archive... you will see if you look at the dds files

the secondary team color mesh wasn't taking a texture... too bad... but for the ncaa mod by Rob Davis --- most the secondary ncaa colors were white, anyways.

You can take a look at the foul box and base scoreboard texture if your bored... I used Twist psd as base ... couple posts above... you can fiddle with that main scoreboard texture if you so desire.
the foul box never gonna be too detailed/HD ... due to the UV maps not cooperating.

Anyways, this if you have some time to spare in the next couple of weeks. not too important to rush... i gotta fix foul box words, bonus words, intro mesh/texture, playoffs.... and the home team logo that i just noticed was off center hahahah
that might be more the UV map... bleh... the logo uv maps were shrunk to fit the ncaa rob davis mod... so they will look a bit strange with the nba logos... gonna have to adjust them back to full size for nba folder release....

oh, if you want to export all the dds with your settings for good image quality .... for some reason this game doesn't like dds texture compressions... dunno

again, only if you want to... scoreboard won't be finished for a few days or week maybe... dunno
