great work. I don't think many people realize that some players have altenate hair that can be assigned by editing appearance only.
I think Kevin love and Kyrie have alternate hair also

So this tool is specifically for changing hair, head tie, headband, facial hair, between one single player - based on the files already in the game for that player. Not for swapping hair other things between two players.

Can’t wait for this, for the time being is there some alternative kind of mod or tool that allows you to edit or change cyber face player bodies? Like maybe change Dennis Schroders body type to Ja Morant? Or just make him skinnier in general

bro...amazing idea with this tool...
i cant wait for the realese, this would make so much easier and faster to edit a body to a more realistic one
and if also can change the size of the head that would be sickk¡¡¡

btw i have a question
how can we change the form of the legs?? like more wider or separete, for exp the lebrons modded legs that are more curved and wider form, put into another player.....

Is this in real-time or live update? I mean if we open edit mode in NBA2K we can use the tool and can see the chages?

it's not in real time, you have to exit player and go back once changes are made. You are editing the files not the ingame memory

Just found out players can have multiple facial textures (just like they can have multiple hairstyles), I think this can be assigned through the appearance_info.RDAT file also

Example is CF ID 7855 is used for a set of twins (Cody and Caleb Martin - both on the Hornets) .
Here are all the face.iff assigned to 7855

Face file #1 - face7855.iff
Face file #2 - face7855_facialhair_ponytail.iff
Face file #3 - face7855_hair_ponytail.iff

same thing with Marquese Chris - CF ID is 7210
Face file #1 - face7210.iff
Face file #2 - face7210_facialhair_01.iff
Face file #3 - face7210_hair_braids.iff

This tool will be useful!
And speaking of multiple hair and textures.
It would be great if there was a way to load different texture for hair and facial hair on the same model so we could mix and match.
I have managed to move around UV and set decent hair model to a "beard only" texture but most of the times that does't work cause when you export the model the UV resets to default...

I'm not entirely sure if all of those ( .tx , .ty , .tz ) values actually make visible changes. But I can look into it. The tool can certainly manipulate those values it's just a matter of whether it has any effect when you do.

I'm not entirely sure how you would do that to be honest. It's doable in Blender but the effect that would have on jersey and accessory fit might be a huge pain

Oh okay, so that's what this line in the appearance_info.RDAT file is referring to. I guess whenever you choose that particular 3D item in the appearance info, you also equip the face texture that goes with it

I am but it is not consistent for me and don't know why... I am talking only for the UV map.
Have you already tried it and it saves all the time whatever changes you do?

I have been continuing work on the Appearance Editor Tool... Here is the latest update:

-- I have added the ability to select the path of your modded folder, so that you can have a list of the png archives in there to choose which to open in the tool
-- I am trying to set it up to where the tool can make these changes directly to the appearance_info.RDAT files in the modded folder (no files needed in tool directory or dragging file back to png archive afterwards)
-- Included with the tool will be an editable "options.txt" file where you can go in and add in / change any of the values listed or the start and endpoint of the number ranges as you see fit

Also there's light brown, light blue and I believe light hazel in eye colors :)
Iris size names are EXTRA_SMALL ; SMALL; REGULAR ; BIG ; EXTRA_BIG

So going back to this, do you think there could be anyway to add to the tool the ability to swtich between the different options. As stated, there are multiple players with different hair options, and the one used is specified in the appearance.RDAT file.

It would be really cool to have diffent "looks" on players (basically it all reduces to having multiple separate .iff files for different hairstyles and face textures) and be able to switch them with this simple tool instead of having to enter each png and edit the values. Again, just an idea.

I remember you TG had some kind of project like this one back in 2K14 with DRose as an example I belive?

Anyway, this would be really cool for people that go far into MyLeagues.

As an example I have been working on Mr. Star's Westbrook and I have given him the different looks since his rookie season (bald & young, top-fro, mohawk, masked, braided) etc..
Would be really cool to switch them with just 1 click. I feel also this would encourage to CF makers to release different hairstyle options for their players.

BigshotRob, I think there is a way to have a player sport different hairstyles with different jerseys using looyh's hook. I will need to test it myself. I don't think using appearance_info.RDAT is going to give us the solution as it is able to list all of a players appearances but doesn't seem to be responsible for assigning a specific one.
