Jersey editing help needed

I have downloaded the jersey template from RobDavis. I am able to replace the jersey/shorts textures. I am also able to use his generic (pink) region. Whenever I replace the generic (gold) DDS file the game crashes. I have saved the DDS file as DXT 1 no alpha using the Nvidia plugin and also tried the Intel TextureWorks plugin BC1. I have tried both Paint Shop Pro X2 and Photoshop. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem?

Thanks sticky-fingers for pointing this out. Thanks to RobDavis for the templates and the info. I only edited the two normal.txtr files to fix the crashing problems.
