center court logo request

I'm having a lot of trouble making this center court logo.


I got everything down for it except the lettering (and the smaller stars, but I can do the stars myself). I cannot get this lettering to look right for the life of me, specifically the Texas part. If anyone can get this to look correct for me I will love you. It's the last thing I need before releasing this Spurs pack. Any help would be vastly appreciated.

You might have to do the letters individually and the copy and paste them and resize and alter them as you go that be the easiest way , I try to see if I can do something with it tomorrow

THAT"S IT! Thank you! Literally the exact court I'm making. They used it in the 70's too, which is the era from the jerseys I'm making for their Hardwood Classics stuff. Goes perfect with the color scheme. Thank you again.

I am using that same court for the 83 spurs in 2K17, which I converted from 2K14 after getting permission. I thought it was the same exact court, I didnt realize you made it (it's a one texture court, it's the big76ers file)

You know me a lot better than that, I would never give improper credit knowingly. If you made it, thank you, you deserve credit. If you converted from 2K14 like I did, again you deserve credit for the conversion and the original creator deserves credit for the art.

He is not at fault here. I am for assuming, and by assuming I shared. That is on me.

I have been staring at my CPU day in and day out for hours, and have noticed the uptick in activity here on the NLSC because of the pandemic, and felt like trying to be more helpful. Clearly didnt mean harm, it doesn't benefit me.

I sent a message to Stove asking him to ask permission and give credit on his thread. I am the one who started this, I am at fault.

I'm just waiting on him to respond. He never would have had the file had I not shared it. Again, big misunderstanding and an obvious accident with no malicious intent on my part.

Please give him a chance to respond. This isnt on the admins, either. This is a completely new situation that just came up, and I am sure it will be acted on when time permits.

No, that isn't the case. However, it's only appropriate to let people sort things out without constant and immediate intervention on our part, so that people don't feel like they're walking on eggshells. I'd rather not treat people like children or come down like a tonne of bricks on people when it isn't necessary, such as when there's been a misunderstanding like this. People deserve a chance to be informed of the situation, and make it right by either seeking permission, or simply removing the work as you would prefer in this case. I would hope that once Stove logs in and is up to speed on the situation, it will be put right and that court removed ASAP. If not, that's when I'll intervene because your reasonable request won't have been respected and followed. It's only fair that Stove has a chance to fix the situation given the circumstances, just as it's only fair that you're asking him to remove your work.

Reporting a post lets us know that there's a situation to monitor and take action on as necessary. If it's sorted out without the need for us to intervene, then great; ideally, that's how it should be when there are disagreements and honest mistakes in modding, and people are willing to do the right thing after messing up. If a situation needs immediate intervention, or if a situation can't be resolved quickly, properly, and peacefully, that's when we'll step in. It's not about letting people get away with stuff, it's about giving them a chance to receive the complaint and make amends. If it was intentionally stolen work, it'd be different and I'd be issuing a warning much quicker. When there's a honest mistake as there obviously was here, I'll give someone an ample chance to do the right thing before I go off on them.

We do want to be fair and consistent with the rules, but that also means handling things on a case-by-case basis and considering the context of the situation. Using work that you've been sent by someone else with the understanding you've got full permission to use it, but haven't because there's been a mix-up, isn't the same as intentionally taking someone's work without asking and not giving credit. We're not going to be heavy-handed with the former, while the latter would demand more forceful intervention out of the gate. The same would go for refusing to comply with a request in the first case, but people need a chance to respond first.

Sticky, this is the court I THOUGHT I was sharing, yours is higher quality, but in the act of trying to be helpful I didn't take a close enough look at it. This court is from the UBR/URB, and I converted to 2K17 after getting permission from Retroman.

With all of this going on, and just to be sure, I am going to reach out to retroman again as I believe his signature was on the end of the court before I converted it, and I will ask him permission to see if I can share it now that I just converted it to 2K20. He has always said yes (Enthusiastically) when I have asked his permission to use courts. If he gives me the okay to share, that doesn't mean that Stove can just use it without giving credit. I don't want that to get lost here, often times creators are happy with CREDIT (Like you have been, Sticky). Right now, that credit is missing from Stoves thread. So Stove, if I get permission to share the Spurs court I just converted, you must give credit in your thread to retroman for the use of that court.

How far has the community come? I mean, I understand you want credits for you work since it takes a lot of time.

But the pride over here annoys me. I've never been into editing before, now I started making Cyberfaces and I just release them and everybody should use them wherever they want. It's cool to get credits, but tbh, this is a small nerdy internet community and I have zero pride on this anonymous internet platform. I am grateful that we share this hobby and that we have so many modders who make this game better. And I always tried to pass my knowledge about roster editing or other stuff before just to help others making the game better.

But the fuck, more and more people want money for their contributions, offer insecure ad-plagues links or feel like they need credit in a community that should be a about giving and taking. This is not a free market capitalist entreprise homepage.

Summarized: Yes, giving credits to the right people is obligatory. If you feel like the wrong persons were credited or you should have been credited - talk to the guys and don't force them to not use your great stuff. In the end your creating it for improving the game and helping the community.
