Shady's NBA 2K20 Simulation Sliders **Best Ever*** 4/24

Hey guys it's Shady, so glad to be back this year with sliders....even though 2K always comes out during a tough time of work and school I love putting in that initial grind to see whats up with this years edition of 2K basketball. So far this year I already have 127 hours played! Without further ado, if you know whats going on you can go ahead and scroll straight to the sliders. (or go on PC 2Kshare under #Shady) If you're new here let me tell you a little bit about what I do. Basically I tweak sliders every year to try and make NBA 2K play as close to NBA basketball as realistically possible....this includes statistics, shot selection, and athleticism....this year to start off I wanted to attack 2K20 and focus on correcting the following 5 major issues:

    1. Blocks - While the new blocking animations are my favorite addition to this years 2K I feel like blocks are far to common so I toned them down slightly....dominant shot blockers still patrol the paint and you have to think twice before challenging them without the "Giant Slayer" badge!

    2. CPU's obsessive paint attack / Paint FG% - Let me just come right out and say it...on default HOF the CPU finishes virtually everything! Not to mention all they do is try to attack the paint! I've toned this down slightly to hopefully achieve a more realistic FG%

    3. CPU Deviates too much from set plays (also causing too many points in the paint) - I made some adjustments to the CPU to help them stick more to their set plays....this will also help CPU shot selection overall because now plays that were called for 3's actually end up as 3's as opposed to mindless drives by the CPU!

    4. 3 point attempts - This is self explanatory....the 3-point shot is the staple of the NBA....last year teams averaged 32 3pt attempts per game, on default 2K20 you'll be lucky if the CPU takes 15 in a game, and that's a shame....while my sliders usually don't get the CPU up to 32 it's usually close and you'll see a variety of off-balance, off the dribble 3 point attempts from the CPU

    5. Contested shots - I would say this is more of a philosophical disagreement between me and 2K, but 2K has these mycareer, Mypark guys thinking that just because someone is in front of you that you should miss every jump shot you ever take....ha yea just ask the Sixers about that when Kawhi hit that buzzerbeater!

Anyways, lets get to the good stuff first up is game settings....most of this is user preference except for the ones that I list!

Game Speed - 60 *This is HUGE this year to make certain animations play out properly!*

Offense - *Disclaimer About the shooting sliders.....these are low key user preference....what I mean by that is based on YOUR play style you MAY have to make slight adjustments! When I play 2K I try to simulate what the team I'm playing with would normally do! I take a lot of step back and moving 3 pointers and mid-range jumpers and these sliders are tweaked so that you are able to do that, HOWEVER if you are the type to ONLY take wide open shots or wait for the absolute perfect shot then you may need to drop user mid-range / 3-point sliders down by increments of 1 or 2!

I really like these sliders so far! You managed to get the game playing a lot like it did on day 1 again. The only thing that seems odd is that shot contests register as strong even if the defender is nowhere near my shooter or even behind him, perhaps because of the jump shot defense sliders. So, it's hard to get a shooting game going.

Also really glad to see real player percentage as a staple of your sliders. I’ve noticed 2k can get a little cheesy with the green releases this year especially. Simmons hitting 3 and what not. Keep up the great work.

I know man that's definitely going to be my main focus going forward, but the defense on default after the patch was so bad the only way I could stop a lot of the nonsense was jacking up shot defense sliders!

It's always going to be the staple man that shot meter is too cheesy for me....got Ben Simmons looking like Steph lol (although us here in Philly are hoping he comes back with a new and improved jumper! :-D )

Tried your sliders, while very good, they allow the CPU to shoot a high percentage, and make a lot of shots. I'm missing shots that the CPU generally makes. Maybe I don't have my releases down pat. Just a observation, thanks for the effort.

You are absolutely right with the CPU tendencies, they seem obsessed with spamming the paint and its absolutely ridiculous how they make them. I'll try these out.

I would suggest increasing speed to 49/50 after recent updates. As you can see these sliders are little outdated (Shady move to other city as I remember).

Game speed was based on launch game speed Sliders will be updated Thanksgiving day completely revamped so stay tuned! Sorry for the delay as wolf said I was in the process of moving from NJ to ATL!

Hey Shady !!! First I want to thank you for the time you spent on working on these sliders !!! I didn't get the opportunity to test them yet but I have a question for you about the controler settings. I saw that the D intensity and the boxout settings have a big influence at how the game is playing.

Can you tell me please what are the values for you and don't tell me default settings please because I don't know these values, I changed them too many times...

I'm not sure what his reasoning is for those values, but the set plays great. I've played with sets where those sliders are much higher and players blow layups and close shots so Shady is doing something right.

I've spent the days using the sliders but I honestly enjoy them more using shot timing instead of real player %

Thats the only tweak I made other than take down the CPU off reb to 40 and up user blocks to 45.
