CPU Irreal double team

Hey guys, DT in 2k20 makes me crazy...

After make a run with one player (6/10pts) CPU uses a very agressive and irreal double team if your player have the ball...

Any tip to decrease this?

I've noticed that as well. It's nice that the CPU is a bit more proactive in double teaming, but they also do so indiscriminately and more readily than they should.

Assuming we can't alter it in sliders, perhaps the coaching profiles?

I did play a 99 Sixers vs 98 Knicks game last night......Iverson got hot and yes they started to double him.....

...to be honest the DT is too much agressive but at the same time was not for all game long....on next quarter he score just 2pt so they stopped to double him.
I played a game against 98 Jazz later....Iverson was hot they doubled him but not like the other game....

I also see CPU doubling star post player like Malone since the first quarter.

I did play some 2k19 games...and I must say they never really double me hard even when AI was so hot.

So I think in 2k20 maybe is related to coaching profiles....and yes maybe they ned to tone it down a little.....after playing 2k19 I must say I prefer CPU to be aggressive on DT on 2k20.....maybe with a patch / slider or coaching profiles they can tune it,

Just my 2 cents.......

p.s.
If a CPU Star player drop 6-8 pt on me I also try to double him so pass the ball on a weaker teammates.....so I guess it's not that bad.

Yes, the double team is positive, the problem for me is how it is made.

2 players leave before the middle of the court and agressivly try to steal the ball all the time .... it's not about reducing the space and forcing the mistake ...

Same thing on the 3 point line. The double team has always been aggressive in their intention to steal the ball from the first second, and we know that doesn't happen in professional basketball.

The only solution is to tone it down with a patch...maybe coaching settings....but usually this logic is stricly related to patches.

I dont even know if it's the fact that the double team comes so fast.

It's the fact that when it gets to you, your player is often forced into an animation where the only option is to pass or accept the jump ball or steal. Most times it feels like you are sucked into the double team, followed by being cemented in place.

I like the fact that they double, honestly. It's pretty aggressive, but it makes sense if you are killing the other team with one player. I think the mechanics around it are more the problem. I would score with Tatum like 5 times in a row, and on the 6th possession I would give it to him on the elbow, and right when he caught the ball the CPU turboed a second defender into him, and immediately a stealing animation happened. This does happen in real life at times, but I guess I can agree that the speed in which the double team comes is a little unrealistic, and the canned animation it causes and loss of control at times can be frustrating.

i used to play with it but i didnt notice double team, but i've read about it on OS.

It seems that won't change Double Team logic...I did a quick game once again I was 00-01 Phila......ACE off.

Iverson was killing them and they started to double him...again he was really hot scoring like 8 straight and keep going on.

As he get cold on some quarters they stopped doubling him.

Also on last quarter game was close and they stopped doubling him especially on late game.

I did play another game and AI was on a cold night,,,he got doubled just few times in the entire game.

So I don't think ACE affects that at all....again they need to tune it becouse when he was hot it was too frequent...but overall I like to see double teams to happen.

That's definitely a big part of it; the canned animations, and the quickness and effectiveness that the CPU can trigger that scenario.

There are times when the CPU double teams when it shouldn't, leading to defensive lapses. I like the idea of the increased aggressiveness and believe it should be a thing in general, but they need to tone it down a little. Sometimes the CPU double teams just to double team, and doesn't adjust accordingly. If nothing else, it's a bit OP for the CPU with the canned animations.

I made comparisons with the NBA 2K19 now tonight ...

The 2K20 is COMPLETELY BROKEN right now! The defense is very aggressive all the time. Completely surreal.

After 6 points with Iverson, the CPU defense doubles him as long as he catches the ball BEFORE THE CENTER OF THE COURT!!! They run to steal the ball all the time...

Just enter the low post with Embiid or Simmons that on the SAME SECOND, I get double or even triple team (ALL THE TIME 100%)

The CPU defense makes no mistake in any decision in pick n rolls. I wasn't finding it so bad until I put 2K19 back on and see when I have control of the moves and how much more real it is compared to 2K20.

For now I'm tired of this game .... its frustrates right now. Without a patch for fix this irreal defense, i´m go play 2K19 this year...

I was actually waiting to get doubled team with Kuzma shitting on the Nets, but nothing, he kept getting ahead of his defender wide lane to the basket at All-star difficulty

That's the point:

- i like is not game long...I also see that If I'm cold after a good start they stop...
- it's unrealistic that they start to double you on first quarter sometimes even before half court...they need to patch it or tune it....

BTW...did you find or touch the slider you mentioned before?

ACE is on, on this video i played with D43'sliders.

For the scoreboard, it's almost "ready" but with a dark layer. Hope an answer by looyh :o

Man, IMO, its TERRIBLE! Look the double team speed, if Arenas touch the ball, in 1s, defense is 100% prepared... Its so unreal...

In this gameplay, LeBron dont touch the ball, for Cavs...

The slider named for double team is HELP DEFENSE STRENGHT.

i think that help defense will not fix that. It fixes easy blowby with more help from opposite side.

And yeah, retro teams playbooks and tactics sucks :x

I actually had a very good game with Knicks few minutes ago....AI was hot...not on straek but was best scorer of his team and shooting really well...

What I like was that the knicks doubled him on specific situations...when he was in the corner with a good perimeter defender (J.Starks) they don't doubled him.......as he moves on the arrow direction the double did start...

...also in this specific situations he was not doubled....even after he did score like 6pt in a row..

...when he was driving sometimes they did double him. They also doubled him at half court just to put pressure on him....actually I lost the game he did score a lot but they did forced many shots....

The cool thing is they also doubled him on driving even when he was with just 2pt in the first...becouse he's AI and we all know how dangerous he was.

At the end DT need to be toned on some situations....but overall I like this "dynamic" feel.

Just my 2 cents

P.S.
I put CPU defensive awareness to 50....and I will test playing with a different team with low rated perimeter defender and low rated defensive team
