D43 Player Movement Sliders

Hi all,

The goal of these sliders is to improve player movement in NBA 2K20, including making speed/acceleration a bit more steady, as well as curving the amount of speed breaks that happen in the game, etc. In turn, the game should feel more reactive on the sticks, be more fun to play, and curve some of the "sluggish" feel.

I've been messing with them for quite awhile.

*All Adjustments are for CPU and User

Game Speed: 50

Player Movement with and without the ball: Default is 70/40 for each category, change to 80/60

Acceleration: 70

Speed: 55

Lateral Quickness: 60

Body up sensitivity: 0

MISC CHANGES

OFF Rebounding: 30
DEF Rebounding: 70
Fatigue Rate: 45

I start with HOF as the base and make those tweaks, but you can start with whichever difficulty level you want as a base.

Does any of this completely fix the movement issues? No. No slider set could. Does it make the game feel more reactive on the sticks, more responsive overall and the game more fun? For me and brother, yes.

Examples:

Human vs human gameplay. I'm the Celtics, my brother is the Rockets.

Another example, human vs human gameplay

I'm the Lakers here vs my brother. Had quite a few awesome moments with Shaq and Kobe, Garnett was tough to maintain. HOF was the base here.

phpBB [video]

Note: If you want to speed it up a little more, here is an example with game speed at 54. My brother and I using NBA legends post patch against the CPU on HOF with the tweaks mentioned above.

These won't be for everybody, but figured I would share.

I've been messing with them for quite awhile.

By default, the with and without ball sliders towards the bottom are at a 70/40 split for each category for user and CPU, try putting those at 80/60

For CPU and User: Put acceleration at 70, and speed at 55.

Also, place body up sensitivity at 0 for CPU and USER, as this seems to help a bit with the getting "sucked in" part.

Again, might not be for everybody, but the game feels a bit better with those slider edits.

I usually just edit this since 2k18:

By default, the with and without ball sliders towards the bottom are at a 70/40 split for each category for user and CPU, try putting those at 80/60

But I will try other sliders (Y)

Post patch.

Here is a video of my brother and I using legends with them on HOF as a base. Movement on the break, on drives, etc feels and looks smoother. Perfect? No. But it felt a bit better.

Yes! I just posted it on your thread. Someone mentioned it in the comments as well.

Thanks for that great work.

Smooth but in my opinion the players are a bit fast. Reducing general speed should be for a near perfect gameplay.

Yeah exactly, maybe not for everyone, but you can see some improvements.

I have game speed at 54. If you try them, you could always keep game speed at 50 and use the rest of the suggestions.

This could always be a thread for the conversation as well. If you guys have sliders that work well or are slight tweaks of mine, you could share them here.

Let's help eachother.

Here is an example of my movement sliders, with game speed at 50.

Again, the slider tweaks are supposed to help with speed/acceleration breaks, make the running smoother and more steady, and reduce the "sucking in" animations.

Another example with the movement sliders, game speed at 50.

A couple more adjustments I made: OFF Reb at 30 and DEF Reb at 70 for both user and cpu, played 3 games with them like that and the rebound numbers are a lot more realistic. Otherwise it seems that the offensive rebounding is overpowering. I also turned up Lateral Quickness for user and CPU to 60, which makes the movement more free flowing, less stuck in the mud feel.

I'm the Lakers here vs my brother. Had quite a few awesome moments with Shaq and Kobe, Garnett was tough to maintain. HOF was the base here.

I agree, I'm keeping it on 50 moving forward.

The sliders I listed are the only adjustments I made to HOf sliders. The sliders I posted can be used with any base set.

Do you think you need to change your sliders after the patch?
