Heavily updated Auto-shrinkwrap Tool
-No more file renaming
-Apply model changes to as many files as you want, all at once
-Does not shut down after each use anymore, stays on standby for however long you want to use it
-Swap in new source and/or target files while the tool is still open
-Still same simple interface, but now faster

A couple key things to know when using the new version of the Auto-shrinkwrap Tool:

1) Just like with the 3D Accessory Tool, the Auto-shrinkwrap Tool directory must be placed in your "Home" folder (Users --> your name) on whichever drive you have your OS installed on - which in most cases people have it on their C drive. The drive you have your OS installed on should have a blue Windows icon in the top left. For me it's "C:/Users/trevor/auto_shrinkwrap"

2) Instead of renaming your model files to "target_in.model" and "source.model" and generating a file named "target_out.model", it is now just about where files are placed within the directory. The filenames can remain their original names. You will want to place your source model file directly in the "auto_shrinkwrap" folder with the .exe, and place all of your target file(s) in the folder "apply_to". Upon running the tool, you will see updated copies of all of those same files appear in the "exported_new_files" folder

Man just stumbled across this thread. Thanks for this!

I'm not new to modding but I haven't really used any modding tools in a couple of months. Just want to see if anyone created a video on start to finish on how to use the tool. I really just want to transfer Westbrook body to Allen Iverson and change Iverson's hair style.

There is not a video yet for the Auto-shrinkwrap tool. I can try and make a quick walkthrough step by step if you would like. Is there a particular part that you don’t understand?

Thanks. I haven't tried it yet but I just know I'm not too computer savvy lol. But let me take a stab at it and if I cant get it working right I will let you know.

But if a step by step process is not too much to write out then I would greatly appreciate that.

A couple new additions for you to add to the accessories folder in the 3D Accessory Tool directory
1) Hair band (for players with dreads or other long hair)
2) Ninja headband (An older attempt which IMO 3D edit is not as good, BUT no shading issue so it should be game ready)

I tried installing the blender add on in blender 2.72
I get an error when I go to enable the add on
Image

Do I need to updgrade to blender 2.79?

*Edit*
Also was not able to get the ninja headband to show up. I will start from scratch later. I'm using the same method as adding bandanas from tutorial to add the ninja headband.

You wanna make sure the addon is in your User > Appdata > Roaming > Blender Foundation > Blender 2.7x > scripts > addons folder. I don’t think it would be the Blender version.

Is ninja headband showing up in Blender and just not in game or not at all?

Hmm, that's odd. If you want you can send me your SCNE file and I can make sure everything is good and/or I can send you files of a ninja headband attached to player for you to refer to

Here's the Montrezl Harrell from my last screenshot on here. He has both the ninja headband and a hair band on.

If you haven't take a look at the files from my previous post and see if you can spot anything that you are missing. If you still are not able to get it to show up, I can help you out.

I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to do a screencap of me applying the ninja headband to a player, since despite all the scenarios I showed in the tutorial, I did not show how to apply the ninja headband in specific.

Did you copy in the contents of the Shader and Prim section from the ninjaHT.SCNE file? There should be like 3 vertex groups under the shader "hat_custom_shader" in that scene file and you want to copy them all to the end of the Prim section in the hihead.SCNE file of the player.

Usually when all you see is the vertex points there is geometry in the model file that is not accounted for/written in the SCNE file

Postby TGsoGood on Thu Jul 11, 2019 4:44 pm

yes copied everything to the material section at the top and to the Prim section also

Edit:
Got it to work. I was originally pasting the values to the wrong prim section. I was pasting the shader values in the prim section for an LOD file instead of the main Prim section
Image

The CF that I'm using has too much unnecessary info in the SCNE file which contributed to me putting things in the incorrect place.
Thanks for your help, it ultimately lead me to take a closer look at where I pasting the info.
Maybe I will make a tutorial specifically for people making CFs to show them how to clean up the SCNE file so they don't have unnecessary info.

Ah gotcha. Yeah that'll do it. I probably should have mentioned in my tutorials that I always clear out the LOD's and extra info out of the SCNE file before I do practically anything. Glad you were finally able to get it to show up. Hopefully you are also able to see it in-game as well.

How do you update to python 3.5? I'm having the same error message trying to enable the blender addon?

Edit - Disregard, just updated to blender 2.79b. All good. Here's to hoping it'll show in game!

Yes. You would want to find the accessory in the game files, apply it with the 3D accessory tool, and custom fit it how you like in Blender. Once applied it will be available with the 3D body just like the headband is with its own vertex group.

I don't think there is a way to separately upgrade Blender's python.

I don't remember putting anything into the code that is dependent on a newer version of Python but I will double check. If so, I can slightly alter the syntax and post another copy of the Blender addon that is compatible with older versions of Blender/Python.

Can someone please tell me what on earth I'm doing wrong? I'm attaching my files.

My custom headshape, png1963 is Cam Reddish. I imported the hair from Dejounte Murry, png7222. Everything went great. I imported into blender, saw the hair, ran the blender add on tool, however in game, the hair looks like straight lines/forks. I've tried importing the Hair files from Dejounte's png, but it still doesn't work.

Can someone fix this for me please?

Try this and see if it works.
ernel2014_hiheadSCENE.zip

I cleared out all the LOD stuff in the file, I would recommend you do the same to make sure you are copying in the values to the right place. But the important thing is that "hat_custom_shader" is added to the end of the Material section and that the 3 vertex groups that say "hat_custom_shader" are added to the end of the Prim section. Otherwise the ninja headband won't show up in the game, regardless of whether it has been applied to the model file with the 3D Accessory Tool.
