Well, after a week of gaming, i needed to review my review :P

Gameplay : After tweaking the sliders, i'm pretty happy because i fix mostly what i didnt like with default sliders.
The remaining biggest flaw : too many jumpball after a double team and cant be fix by sliders.

Graphics are even better with chinese global, Michaellutrz effect, and Reshade.

Sounds are a way better, specially in playoffs.

I also started a MyLeague, tried historic draft. Pretty cool addition. There's a ton of new sliders for balancing mostly everything (trades, players contracts etc...), but i havent try to tweak yet these options.

I really see no issues with difficulty. I'm now 72 OVR (keep in mind I was at a military show and got to 2K on late Saturday and during Sunday when I took day off to recover from the show). I play at Pro.

I played 6 min quarters (I like 6 more than 5, math is easier) to get some VC fairly fast and switched back to 12 minute quarters when I hit 70 OVR.

I'm like 5 games before All-Star game.
My current status:
  • Dropped season high 70 points.
  • Averaged 40-something points and 11 assists in last 10 games.
  • I already have ton of badges - Gold Free Throw (it puts you at 87 rating BTW), some silvers and bunch of Bronze. I'm missing like 3 badges at this point, then only to level them up.
  • I'm shooting rather reliably from all over court - low post, mid-range space creating shots or threes from set plays.
  • I'm comfortably leading Rookie of the Year award race.
  • I'm third in MVP race.
  • I'm fourth in All-Star voting.

So once again it's not hard and can create weird looking situation when 70-something bum leads the team consisting of two 90+ stars (LeBron and storyline Harris).

Also funny enough my build has no HoF badges, but if I reach 99 OVR it will have 7 HoF, 16 Gold and 2 Silvers.

That was my first impression. And the skating/sliding and floating is still terrible. But, I was able to fix some of the player movement issues, making the games pace and flow better, I was able to make it more explosive.

I'll be uploading another video shortly. But yes, that was my first impression, and with default sliders it still feels pretty bad for me.

Hey Dee, would you mind sharing your sliders? Watched your Thunder vs. Pelicans video and movement is better. Thanks man.

So the Bucks fans in-game troll players with fake countdown (shouting 3-2-1) like in real life. There's plenty to be critical about, but damn, stuff like this is really fucking cool.

I rented the game yesterday and put in a few hours. Obviously, I've not dug very deep into the game but it did make a good first impression on me.

My favorite part of these games is managing the team and becoming immersed in the virtual league. I don't enjoy playing games outside of that context so I don't have a ton to say about the gameplay yet. Feels like 2K

The menus and presentation are wonderful though. While I haven't figured everything out yet, I find them aesthetically pleasing.. 2K17 is my favorite installment in recent memory but the sad grey menus always bugged me a little bit. I also like the soundtrack for the most part, with only a few tracks I wanted to deactivate immediately.

I mostly played the new myGM mode. The plot is silly and there are some noticeable inconsistencies but I like it. The pro-am and expansion draft were pretty fun, and as a whole the mode is headed in the right direction. Probably will stick to myLeague because I like starting with the actual opening day rosters but overall I like it.

Haven't tried myCareer yet. Not sure I will

The soundtrack is indeed dope; songs like Driftin' have really dope instrumentals.

So... I reached OVR 75 yesterday. Keep in mind that I played mostly on the launch weekend and then not too much as I've had other stuff to do including travelling to a military show.

Now my 2K18 player wasn't much higher when I kinda lost interest in the game.

I'm still like 6-8 games before All-Stars break (and #3 in the Western conference voting) and my numbers soared to basically average 35 pts, 10 assists and 5 rebounds per game.

The game is not hard at all, mistakes generally come from game being stupid. I get bunch of turnovers on me not being able to do a 2 meter pass out of a spin or my teammate with very high 3pt rating on break deciding to change direction from running towards corner on fastbreak and run TOWARDS the bloody defence under the basket which means me holding the pass button will throw the ball right at the opposing player under the basket instead of into the corner for easy open shot.

Some animation chaining is simply bad an "robotic". Results in unnatural super quick pull-ups and similar stuff.
3 seconds in paint are rarely called, I've had players camp out 5 and then finally GTFO.
The teammate grading is simply horrible. I still haven't had an A+ game even with a triple double and maybe 1 turnover and a solid D.

They seem to have fixed some of the incentives and they now do stack up (I have 20 and 30 point game bonus from same company and now I get both).
Overall it's not nearly as hard to get VC as last year, my cap breakers are now at 89 OVR (so that's my potential)... So I made 15 OVR levels and unlocked 4. Note that I did not use pre-order bonus nor did I buy VC at any point.
The wheel spinning is still kinda BS, but if you know the secret you get to spin in under 2 minutes anyway. As far as rewards from that go, the best is probably the energy boosts - great value and they essentially give you unlimited energy in 12 quarter NBA games.

I don't have a hard time getting good teammate grades; it's more about playing your role and playing within the flow of the game than getting good numbers.

There is a secret to wheel-spinning that if you walk in and go straight to the spot before anyone's players have loaded you can do it immediately; what a stupid fucking feature.

My role is SG (two way shot creator). I get jack shit for most shots that go in and for following set plays. I get A fairly regularly, it's just that A+ is somehow way too far away.

Compared to last year, it's a lot tougher to get an A+. The problem is that the grading logic still hasn't improved at all, so now it's grading more harshly on what was already problematic criteria. Fortunately I negotiated a 2X bonus, so even a B+ grants a healthy amount of MyPOINTS.

I'm having a hard time getting into 2K19. The CPU makes damn near every shot they take, defended or not, and I miss the majority of mine. The gameplay has improved, I admit. But maybe I just suck at this version, because all my shots don't fall and the CPU's defense is just insane. Every wide open 3 is made by the CPU, and we all know that doesn't happen in the real NBA. Slider adjustments don't seem to help, and neither does the adjustments you make on offense and defense on Be The Coach during time outs. Do these actually work, or is this nothing more than fluff? I just want a playable game where the CPU doesn't shoot 60% from the field, and I'm not down by 20 before the end of the 1st qtr, with 8-10 steals and 4-5 offensive putbacks created by the CPU.

First I want to say, I really like this game. I love the improvement that have been made over 2k18.
I am a Myleague user. I also enjoy the MyGm feature. It could be better. for instance:
When creating a Myleague and you want to make a custom league you should be able to determine the number of teams in the league. If I want to start a league from the year 1976 I should be able to have only 22 teams in my league if I want. and be able to start with the exact rules that were used in that year. (That would be a great improvement). Also, give us the option to create uniforms with short sizes of that year. for instance If I create a league from the 70's and at a point in this league I want to add an expansion team. looks a little odd that the expansion team has dress size shorts on when the rest of the league has short shorts..

Another great addition to the CAP mode would be an area were we could input the stats of the player we are trying to create and press a button and it would automatically fill in the attributes. and then we can fill in the rest of the attributes that have to do with strength and vertical and dunks. but the shooting, and rebounding and assist atributes will auto fill based on the stats you input.

Again, want to say this is a great and I am loving playing it
