NBA Live 19 - EA All Access (30 hours trial) NO PLAYER EDITING IN FRANCHISE

Hey,

Fellow Xbox users, if you are interested. NBA Live 19 is available via EA All Access. Monthly charge is $4.99 (Canadian) and you can cancel at anytime. This gives you a 30 hour trial of full access to NBA Live 19.

I am dissatisfied with EA right now. I’m a franchise/offline guy and you cannot edit players in franchise mode. I don’t know what else to say, I am sad. I’ve pre-ordered this year too.

Heard about that, the lack of editing in Franchise. Definitely a shame.

they know that fans want it in the game, they can still add it in the game like they did with roster editing last year. They have a good game this year. I'm definitely doing a franchise mode this year.

Are legends available on Play Now or offline mode? Or are they just in LUT?

On the player edit screen, is it possible to change animations?

Unfortunately, we cannot change animations.

I'd like to change Tatum's shot, but I can't.

This is a bummer. I was so devastated when I saw we cannot control more than 1 team and cannot edit players in franchise.

I guess, maybe next year. Sort of bummed about my preorder too. I’m going to see if I can cancel it and maybe buy the game later on when it’s discounted. Back to NBA 2k14 and NBA 2k17 I go and hopefully 2k19 has vastly improved the issues it had last year.

If enough noise gets made, they could totally add player editing during the season

It's worth asking and continuing to make suggestions, to demonstrate that there is still a lot of interest in a deep Franchise experience. No guarantees, but we can be sure our voices won't be heard if we don't speak up at all.

I love EA's logic: Live 06 had in-game injuries... removed for Live 10; Live 10 had player editing in franchise... removed in 19.

I streamed the game for a little over an hour tonight. I went through all the teams so you could see the overalls. I also went into franchise mode/Ultimate Team, create a player, and more.

So for those of you without EA Access or an XBOX One, you can see the full game.

I also hit 1000 subscribers during the stream, which was pretty cool.

Thanks, Dee. This is the main advantage that 2K has over Live for me. I really like to insert my favorite legend players in the current line up of my favorite team and use them in season mode.

Totally agree, 2K wins by a mile with depth (and NBA content in general). I prefer Lives gameplay this year, but am disappointed in the lack of NBA content and customization.

Hopefully they address these issues for NBA Live 2020, it could be a really special year, as they have really improved the gameplay.

I also enjoy LUT but there is really something about having legends in the regular roster and being able to control the roster like having a draft class of all the legends like what you did in 2k17. I'm really such a fan of retro stuff.

It's been too long since NBA Live had retro content outside of LUT, so I'm definitely in favour of it. Unfortunately, adding that kind of content doesn't seem to be a priority at the moment. I imagine the situation with NBA 2K is also a factor here; they've set the bar really high in terms of retro content, and they also have exclusive deals with some of the big names. All the same, doing something would be better than nothing, and I think people would still appreciate it for what it is.

Exactly, it seems like EA has made it a point to not try to directly compete with 2k on parts that 2k is strong at and try to provide and alternative NBA game, hence the focus on The One. Could be why they're not putting too much effort into franchise yet

I can see the logic behind it, but to truly compete, they need to be a viable alternative across the board. Every little bit of depth in the modes, every little bit of extra content, it all helps make the game much more appealing overall.

Agree with you guys 100%; they are pushing The One just because MyCAREER is huge, but right now Live's strength lies in its 5v5 gameplay.
