I did not bought the game this year (yet maybe), so just can presume scoreboard's file should be similar as in k17.

If yes, then do the following: extract my modded newscorebug.iff files as you did to get a lot of small files.
Check the dates - this will tell which file names I have edited.

If I remember well, this is mostly animation and SCNE files.

Start with scorebug_opt.SCNE
It could be opened with notepad.

As example, check what font names are listed here.
Last year at "score_home_txt" was "stratum2_bold", "franklin_demi_medium" or others.
Simply rename these lines with different font name.
This example is self explanatory - it substitute font for the home score digits.

This is not hex editing, but a huge portion of changes could be made there.

One example of hex editing. Last years file "new_score_home_txt_new_score_home_txt.9d8f90793fe5909b"
Just few letters and digits inside, something like
0d 97 b4 c5 56 9e e2 45 00 00 40 3f 00 00 40 3f

These 00 00 00 40 3f are the size of home score digits on the screen (one for width, other for height).
If to change to 10 3f or 40 3e... - smaller size,
if to change to 70 3f or f0 3f... - larger size

BIIINGO :) Thanks a lot. I will work this out. Another important question:
Wich zip program did you use to explore the newscorbug.iff. And could you expain every step by step when you BACK-ZIP the unpacked newscorebug path. Which settings did you use in the zip application?

Which graphic software did you use to open and save the dds files?

Thank you so much for your support

PS: BUY THIS GAME ! :cheeky:

@dirtydraw,,,,
7-ZIP works works well.
BACK-ZIP - select all the (modded or not) files (that were earlier extracted) in the directory and right mouse click to compress to *.zip
Then just rename file from *.zip to *.iff
No need for any Zip extra settings - simply rename iff to zip, extract zip to a folder /// compress folder content to zip, rename to iff.

DDS editing - any soft should work fine, but I have used GIMP for compressing/decompressing DDS last year (do not remember why), but made graphic editing with more easier software (in my case Adobe fireworks, but any will work here well). GIMP just for converting png to dds or visa versus

ok, your instructions are working - thanks a lot. please have a look:

Image

1)How can I make the team colors bigger? I will have the team colors as complete background behind the team name (Here the blue ones). In which file I have to modify the team colors.

2) Quarter time and shot clock: Moving up and down and size changes have to be done with hex editing, right?

3) how is it possible to get back the teamlogos? And in which file I have to look? I want to place the team logos left beside the team names.

Sorry for those many questions, but I hope for your great expierience :)

I am not sure if I will be able to answer to all questions, because of the difficulty and volume to explain. But for easier one, my pleasure...

This could be done without hex editing. Open scorebug_opt.scne with notepad. Scroll down and find:

score_away_txt": {
"Type": "VCSITETEXT",
"Target": "score_away_txt",
"VC_Label": "score_away_txt",
"VC_Font": "franklin_demi_medium",
"VC_WindowWidth": 78.3000031,
"VC_WindowHeight": 41.5999985,
"VC_ColorID": "CUSTOM",
"VC_ColorR": 0.1,
"VC_ColorG": 0.1,
"VC_ColorB": 0.1,

Colors R G B.
Just change the RGB values. I will not go very deep explaining this, it could be easily found at NLSC forums, but shortly:
R(RED), G(GREEN), B(BLUE) - range from 0 to 255. 0 is darkest possible, 255 - brightest possible. You have to enter the pecentage of true RGB colors here, but in range from 0-1 (zero to one).
In my example, all three colors have 10%, this would form RED channel of 25, GREEN of 25, BLUE of 25.

Album of my hex analysis:
https://imgur.com/a/brOxA
hex value to move around shotclock, Quarter time, Home/away team name tricode, home/away score

I took enrixxx 2k17 tnt v3 and nba v6 scoreboards and ran them through hex comare with FlexHex. i changed the TNT scoreboard values to see what items moved/changed.

all the hex resources are found in the attaced zip file. if you want to further explore these ,just download the file and look at the png comparisons and excel file. I have rather limited free time to properly explore all the png comparisons. I might get to it, but it will be a while.

there's about 20 comparison png for the 2 scoreboards. I havent checked them all. i attaced them below if anyone has time to look at them. lots of hex identical files.
if you dive through a png just notate the changes and maybe upload them here to this thread.
all credit goes to exrxixxx for original hexwork on scoreboards.

thanks

Here's png comparisons of Root vs NBC hex changes (incase anybody wants to look at the hex changes)
only 12 files were hexedited between the two. Many changes must've been done in the .scn files.

anyways, the root scoreboard has team logo on it and team color stretched. the nbc one don't have either, so the difference is either in the hex or the scn files. (i havent looked through the scn files, just noted the hex changes before my FlexHex trial ends)

oh, i have a suspicion that the 1.x.png hex changes (file=t_scorebug_mesh.baee12fcc80b9e14.model) has more to do with .scn editing than actual hex editing of that file. but havent looked into it much
Hopefully exrxixxx will be stop by and give us more pointers.

*edit: for those looking into these things, a tip. I like to use diffchecker when viewing notepad changes.
Here are the differences between Root scoreboard SCOREBUG_OPT.SCNE and Nbav6 scorebug_opt.scne
https://www.diffchecker.com/GF9dDcLd
a few font color changes, window hight changes, an interesting teamcolor_Home/Away diffuse color changes.

anyawys, its a useful tool to quickly view notepad text changes.

anyways, files attached below.

Thank you for your great support and research. And I want to say thank you to @exrxixxx - I´m glad to see you back here :)

I want to show you guys some progress:

Image

I could change the home score color and the away score color from black to white. Also I got back the Teamlogos. Yes, they are actually at the right side, but I think we could get them beside the team names. My problem actually is the size of the team color... will try to solve that problem if anyone wants also to go form exactly this scoreboard download the attached newscorebug.iff file :) maybe together we will solve this.

I believe in bongo's tutorial for the team names was hex edited using the tricode HOME and AWAY its more trial and error from there on out.

Re: [Scoreboards] - Laboratory

Ok, had some time to fiddle. No idea how exrinxxx found these values (wish he'd stop by), but i'm just working with nbav6 and tntv3.

anyways, was trying to move quarter time clock up and down.
this was in nbav6, file clock_txt_clock_txt...yadayada
the last line of hex code ends with 8C C1 to move it up and down.

now 8C (hex) = 140 ; C1 (hex) = 193

hex values goes from 0 - 255. 255 is FF (hex). 256 is 100 (hex) and not relevant to hex editing. so, like color editing, white color decimal code is 255,255,255... which is FF,FF,FF in hex. think of it from 0-255.

now, concerning 8C C1.... at first i thought they were coordinates, but they appear to be inverted and act as a whole number with a decimal point.

Might be wrong, but it seems to work.
so, if you treat C1 as the whole number and 8C as the decimal point, then you can Keep C1 the same and change 8C and move it slightly up and slightly down.

these are very small up/down changes using this way of thinking.

so keep c1 the same (whole number) and 8C can be any decimal between hex 00-FF. (0-255 in decimal numbers). it will move slightly up and slightly down.

xx C1 is how i was treating it... with xx being 00-ff

Now, with C1 as the whole number, there seems to be no good system except for trial and error to move the Quarter time up and down.

for instance,

c1 (193 in decimal) has the quarter on screen, but C2(194 in decimal) might throw it way off screen. I was working with random values, and here's ones that keep the number on the screen.

xx c1 (193 in decimal) is below all the other values

xx 32 (50 in decimal)
xx 3e (62 in decimal)
xx 3f (63 in decimal)
xx 40 (64 in decimal)
xx 41 (65 in decimal)
xx 42 (66 in decimal)
those are all near bottom of screen

xx 43 (67 in decimal) is a little more above the scoreboard. jumps.
xx 44 (68 in decimal) is up in the middle of the screen way high--- i dont know why.

anyways, i use this portable too for easy hex conversion
http://www.xyntec.com/numerimal.htm

havent tried moving it left/right. just was fiddling with the up/down stuffs.

it might be coordinates or something, but 8C C1 acts more like decimial.

below is screenshot of positioning.... png labeled as hex value.

Update on 4.1.png file t_scorebug_mesh.baee12fcc80b9e14.model

Image

can move scoreboard background image all over the bottom half of screen.

dont know if its coordinates or whole number/decimal theroy. did this earlier.

background scoreboard image gets stretched easily. could possibly be a ratio of whole number needed to maintain, possibly follows the whole number/decimal theory.
