Dee4Three wrote:This download gave me a virus WS.Reputation.1, and I can't get rid of it. The game also crashes every time I try to open it, ive deleted all the mod files and it still keeps crashing. The virus activates every time I turn the game on, I am verifying game cache.
This is really pissing me off. The constant adfly links and viruses that come with downloads is so ridiculous.
Note: Verifying game cache didn't work. So I am running malware bytes. I can't play the game at all because every time I start it up it shows the virus, and crashes to the desktop. Again, I followed the removal instructions, and in general deleted all of the mod files from this mod, and it still shows the virus and crashes whenever I boot up the game.
This is ridiculous.

Everything else works fine, just not 2K18. Which means it's attached to the specific mod. It's not from the ad, it's from the mod.

You think OP is trying to infect your computer with a virus? Seems like an awful lot of trouble to do so... it's probably from a malicious ad that popped up onto your screen. I can't help you when it comes to removing the virus but you need to get adblock so you can download files without having to worry about ad.fly pop ups regardless:

Can assure you that I have no interest in hacking your 2k18 game. I think the file you mentioned “Dinput8.dll” is not part of this mod (doesn’t sound familiar). Will verify when I get home from work. Regardless, sorry your having issues. Is anyone else?

I don't think it is either. It's part of the external file plugin mod, and I think Dee is just confused about false positives.
goldenstate77 wrote:Reshade comes with two DLLs, reshade32.dll and reshade64.dll. When you run the mediator app, and run through the install steps, mediator selects the appropriate dll, renames it dxgi.dll and inserts it into the game folder, along with another file "reshade.fx". Those are the only two files related to reshade. Dinput8.dll is not part of the reshade mod.
Either way, out of the 6,450 people on NLSC who downloaded my reshade mod/settings for nba 2k17 (used the same exact files for this mod), and 515 people who have downloaded this version since I posted this weekend, this is the first time I've heard any virus related concerns. Think you are safe....

hmmm, try downloading and installing this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=8109
let me know if that works...
I installed it and still no success

No worries. Thanks.
I couldn't get it to work anyway. My game wouldn't start even after I figured out the virus thing and reinstalled the mod.

Cool thx, Rob. Let me know what you think. It's pretty similar to v1, but with more a bit more effect. I'm working on converting everything to the new version of reshade, which will make it easier to switch between settings in game (only real benefit). Currently you can alt tab out to mediator and switch there, but this can cause the game to freeze sometimes. Also thinking about doing a tutorial, so folks can mess with the settings on their own too. All of this will have to wait though, as I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow for 10 days

Incorrect.
I was fine with the plug in, that's been on since day one. It was the files that went into my main nba 2k18 folder related to reshade. I had to make them trusted.
So no, I am not confused about false positives.

hey, I wanted to ask if it is possible to rename the dxgi.dll but still use reshade.
I'am using GemFx and I want to use your reshade simultaneously but both programs use dxgi.dll so it's not possible to have both of them in the same folder.
thanks in advance
