I've heard people saying that Boogie has a solid three point game with his All-Star and Big Moments cards, but they forget to take the other ratings into perspective.

All-Star Embiid not only has a superior 3pt rating (79 for both archetypes), but he's also faster, has a better midrange rating (81 for Rim Protector, 87 for Post Anchor), and a better defense rating (91 for Post Anchor, 97 for Rim Protector).

With Cousins, it's either good defense, with a bad three point rating, or a decent three point rating, with average defense.

All the more reason to have that Intangibles rating like 2K in order to balance out the Overall. Then again, Overalls on the cards don't always match Overalls in the game, so it's arguably a moot point anyway.

I might wind up trying for the Shaq card if I get bored. I still have like 2 or 3 games left on harden that I never finished

Bought the Lillard card for 30k and loving it. He plays just as he does in real life, hitting 3s fairly easily and dunking on opponents.

Didn't realize there was a second PG Simmons card as I was playing with the 83 one. I put in a bid for about 17k for the 94 Simmons for a nice upgrade

Any thoughts on playoffs round 2 cards? I want to see what Eric Gordon is like, but you have to have the permanent card from round 1 to go for it. I do have Covington so I can use him to try for redick but I don't know if I really need either. Might just go for Shaq instead

Redick's a nice card to have. Like Korver, he can knock down threes even while contested a majority of the time. My favorite players from the Round 2 batch are Redick, Ibaka, and Rozier. Ibake is even better in his all-around stats, and plays better defense than his attributes say, and Rozier is similar to ToTY Lillard in terms of offensive impact.

ToTY Simmons to me is at least in the top 5 PG's in the game. Like Magic, he's tall, but what makes him better is his ability to block. On top of that, he's great at stealing, dunks more frequently than his Ladder card, and can knock down open three pointers.

I predict the Round 3 players to be Jayson Tatum, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, and Tristan Thompson (not too sure who the Cavs will get, but certainly not LeBron).

Agreed. I'd say EA are banking on having him and Curry as the NBA Finals players.

Played the Playoff Ladder, and I managed to get Ladder Simmons. I posted him for 50k bid only (cheapest on the AH).

I saw the price of ladder Simmons has really come down with all the new cards coming out. I managed to get a totw Nance lol.

I have a ton of guys who are great at 3s, so I don't really need 3 point specialists anymore. Kuz is a sniper at 97 and curry hits them off the dribble and spot up shots

So I wound up winning that 94 Simmons PG card for 16k. Man he is so good, finishing layups with contact or just blowing by guys and dunking on them. His passes are really fast so he is really fun to play with.

I'm currently running 94 Dame, 94 Simmons, Master Carter, Ladder Kuzma, Big Moments Dirk. Really fun team to play with.

Spent a good amount of coins to pick up some post anchors in preparation for the Shaq challenge.

I managed to get Ladder Simmons sold with a 55k bid, so that leaves me with roughly 77k with me. I picked up ToTW Caldwell-Pope for the Shaq challenge, along with the Big Moments Gasol reward that I got.

Debating if I want to save that for a Big Moments player, or wait until Tuesday with some more coins built up and see who the next ToTY player is.

Another reason ToTY Simmons is better than his Ladder counterpart is that he blocks shots much more frequently. I managed to block Wilt during a Master Challenge with Simmons.

I would save for the TOTY players since they might come out with someone you really want, like they did Dame this week. I had no problem shelling out 30k for him. The Big moments cards are done, and you already know who they are (unless they come out with more, which I think they said they wouldn't do)
Plus, there are more versions of Lebron and Harden to come, which might turn out to be better than the Big Moments versions

In other news, a couple weeks back, I got bored and had some coins to spend so I built a team with players of Asian descent. Of course, I didn't have enough to fill a 12 man roster lol so I added Aus/NZ

Apparently, I only got Paul correct as part of my predictions for the newest batch of Playoffs players. The others are Jaylen Brown, JR Smith, and (shockingly) Steph Curry.

Even though these Playoffs players are rated high, I would've preferred another Cavs player. We already have Master JR in his dunking days, and when he played better overall.

They're definitely banking on the Cavs getting through to the Finals.

I missed out on last week's ToTY challenge. That is to say, I attempted it late at night after a 2K Pro-Am session, let the game slip away, and then didn't attempt it again in time. I'll have to try for that Towns card, though.

That card is amazing to use. He plays defense better than his card says, he's tied with Magic Shaq for being the second fastest Center (only behind Chamberlain iirc), and can shoot even better than All-Star Embiid. Picked him up for 55k.

Got another ToTY Ben Simmons from the challenge, and sold him for 30k, so I still have quite a few coins left. Also managed to pick up Moments Cousins for a measly 5k.

I've noticed that they've improved the way the meter fills up on shots, especially on catch and shoots when there was a bit of lag so now it's easier to hit the top of the meter

The CPU is so cheap at the end of games on superstar difficulty. I blew a decent lead in game 3 of the master Shaq series. I basically expect the CPU to hit every 3 and get steals at the end of games when they need it

Pretty much what happened to me. Still an issue with basketball games: losses coming from cheapness rather than good strategy on tougher difficulty levels.

On top of that, the newest challenges place the players at cheesy positions you wouldn't expect them to be great at. Julius Erving at the five is a literal nightmare on Superstar, as he shuts down anyone who attacks the basket (this is actual cheese used by the competitive LUT community when Nets Erving was released), and the insane amount of foul calls the AI gets. Not to mention the psychic steals, as noted in the past.

Good point. I should probably try that myself instead of sticking to traditional lineups so much.

That's something I like to do whenever I face certain lineups, along with changing the defensive matchups. For example, the Cavs have James as their point for the Playoffs challenges. Since Jaylen Brown requires Rozier and Horford, I placed those three players in their respective positions, however, I would put Brown to guard LeBron, and Rozier to guard Smith. Rozier would have some problems guarding James due to weight and height differences, but Brown has superior height, speed, and defending abilities compared to Rozier, so he would be able to neutralize LeBron's offensive attacks. Rozier can still play solid defense, but if he's guarding J.R., he has a much easier time doing so compared to guarding James.

For certain games in the Master Challenges, I had to rely on some lineup adjustments, such as having Erving playing the four, Kemp playing the five, and Master Pippen playing the two.

With Ben Simmons at point guard in these ToTY challenges, I might start Pippen at that spot, maybe bring Chris Mullin into the starting lineup for some extra three-point shooting.

Yeah I had to switch Pippen onto Simmons as my Simmons couldn't stay in front of him.

I've lost several matches because on a make the CPU chooses to have my best free throw shooter inbound the ball and I panic after the inbound and wind up turning it over for a 3 by the CPU
