NBA Live 18. First Reveal

So...What do you guys think?

phpBB [video]

It kind of reminds me of the trailer for Live 16, but those player models look A LOT better. I wonder how the collision animations are because LeBron dunked on dude and he fell flat on the ground. Some interesting stuff in there, can't wait for the full trailer.

Everything was looking good (Y)

Questions/Concerns

-The Harden Size-Up in the Trailer still showing that Robotic look that Live always had a problem with :facepalm2:

-Is it me or the Kyrie screenshot looks different than the Trailers?!

Well, my initial thought about screenshot's is... They all look really good. Except, Kyrie? His face does not look 110% on, however LBJ and the rest finally look like themselves, which is a pleasant site to see.

I watched the video's a few times, game play in the cinema scene's looks good. However, we can only judge that on real gameplay videos. I hope players aren't stiff anymore, and we have more control.

I hope this is a continuation from NBA Live 10 lol

The bodies still look stiff to me, and the animations still have a stiff/herky jerky look to them.

I haven't played them this year, what do you think of them? do you notice a graphical difference between the previous versions and the ones with frostbite? how about movement and physics?

NEW FEATURES:

On offense, use the dribble system to catch your defender out of position, while on defense, use the new skill-based counter move to stay in front of the ball handler to direct pace and tempo.

Experience on-ball defense with control and responsiveness to stay with the ball carrier and cut off the drive through skill-based timing windows. Use your size and strength to blow by your man, cut off the drive, protect the basket or score down low, with the all-new Post System, you’re in position to control the Big Man.

Feel explosive dunks, game changing lay ups and the physicality of player collisions in one-on-one gameplay around the basket with more variety and signature finishes.

With more animations than ever before, each character maintains realistic, human-like momentum throughout every match up.

It has to be on frostbite. Pretty sure they had mentioned that before, but it would make sense considering the time they spent off plus all the other games are on frostbite too

Compare the Westbrook face to the Live 16 version and I feel like you can kinda tell. Lots more sweat in 18

I know we are stuck on the graphics, and it's a early gameplay video, but does anybody else notice the animations looking stiff and herky jerky again?

That is my main concern. The game needs to play right.

Those herky jerk stuff is in all of EA SPORTS games. I got some of it smoothed out with the sliders in 16, so I just want more sliders. I know I can tweak it for 18 lol.

Thanks. I wish they would smooth it out, the post game is a nightmare in live games (hooks and fadeways are so herky jerky, they can't be enjoyed). Same with going into jump shots on the move. Hopefully some of that is fixed.

Imagine if this was consistent in NBA Live ... Crazy, took these two weeks ago I believe. Also look at my post above on some features.

Yeah you guys are acting like EA's never done animations like this or that you were expecting some 2K canimation stuff

I do like the idea of offense and defense being a guessing game in that one description. I hope quickness/first step ratings actually come into play here.

A few takeaways from this:

1. I like the footwork

2. I still love Live's lighting

3. The body still looks stiff. Look at his waist up, and shoulders up.

I hope this years Live's moves are more pronounced, instead of "Small Dribbles". I want to feel the creation of space on step backs, crossovers, spins etc.

Looks good except the arena lighting is too dark reminds me of NBA 2k15. Kyrie Irving looks funny they gave him a pin head with a giraffe neck.

I agree, they need a triple threat, and a good first step. They definitley need a better step back and turnaround jumper.

Exactly.

NBA athletes making NBA moves, that's what it's all about.
