Talk about NBA Live 18 here.

Non disclosurer of some sort? Would be hard I guess since this was a public event
Wed Jun 14, 2017 7:05 am
They weren't showing off everything at the event, so I'm assuming they're just holding back info to unveil at a later date. Apparently there's another mode in the game that hasn't been announced yet, but it wasn't playable or on display.

Allstar weekend contests perhaps? With online play.
I'd imagine a 4 player online dunk contest with a lag would be a nightmare though.

I'm not holding my breath on that one, but I'd love to see them come back.

Well no mention of WNBA yet.
They must have had employees at each screen preventing people from recording, because like you said it's a public event so I don't know hwy else there isn't dozens of off-screen cell video of gameplay right now.

I have to tell you.. after watching the Warriors vs Cavs gameplay footage a few more times.... I like it. The game looks so alive, the players look like athletes....
I hope this is the year....

I think this is the year a first, important, big step is made rather than a big leap that overcomes any expectations.
Will it be better than 2K straight away? No.
Does the game give you an alternative that is worth playing? Yes.
Will this be the year to set a strong foundation for future games that might even make 2K sweat and work against some competition straight away? 90% sure thinks so
Am I thinking right now about buying a PS4 just to get my hands on this game? Hell yeah. I am playing the demo in august and if it delivers, I'm sold.

I like what I see as well.

This shot was rarely blocked in 16 so that animation is very welcomed.

Looks like the meter will work like 16's mixed with the mechanics of 2k17?

LeBron does the weird dribbling he does in real life

More physicality and interior defense. Very promising!
Fri Jun 16, 2017 2:35 pm
The gameplay looks much improved, I'd like to more of the defence and what that they have done to improve post play.

Looking back on the old posts, I think any sort of "stiff" animation I saw was the running, at least when they went to help their defender, the transition from guarding to running was a bit jerky, but I think this game looks great.
The GIF of curry's shot, the animation (at least in the legs) looks a bit weird, like it goes STRAIGHT up and he looks a bit leaned back, besides that this game is really shaping up to look good. EA has always had issues with animations and how they look, but at the same time, it's always felt more physics based than 2k, everyone shames 2k for the mass amount of animations they rely on. It's disgusting at times.
Live's past couple games (this and 16) has graphics/visuals that blow 2K out of the water IMO. With 2K you can tell it's a game, it's too saturated, players look too alike, and have a certain cartoony feel from 2K, etc. But Live has always had realistic color schemes (kind of "washed out" and whatnot), their issue has just been animations, while they rely on it less than 2K, 2K still beats them in that department.
I wanted to like 16 so much even with it's flaws, but I'm actually hyped for this game, as much as I don't want to get my hopes up

Talking about animations, look at how the defending player uses his full body to trap the opponent in the corner depending on the defending distance

There's so many new animations, this is the tip of the ice berg

For some reason, these look better as gifs than they do in the actual videos. I don't know why 2k and EA don't put slight motion trails on the game so that it looks more like a broadcast/movie, like what GTA did

http://i.imgur.com/TU2LcmR.jpgShaq with an NBA LIVE 18 thing on at the barber? Legend teams?
Mon Jun 19, 2017 4:18 pm
I bet 2K was happy to have him on their legend cover

That's a reach and a half.
EA usually always get Shaq's likeness. It would be nothing new.

Yeah, that's a bit awkward.

Would leave to see Decade All-Stars again, but I'm guessing his presence won't extend past Ultimate Team.

Some of you guys pick on the people (Including me) talking about herky jerky shooting motions and animations in general. Are you guys looking at these jumpshots in the videos YgTrece posted? They look robotic and unnatural, nothing like the real life counterpart. Fadeaways (And moving shots in general) look like something out of Live 2004.
Those types of animations are my main problem with Live (In a gameplay sense). You guys cannot deny that they animations look robotic and not like the real life counterpart.

Just a quick note, since we have a whole section dedicated to NBA Live 18 discussion: new videos can go in new threads, as we're past the first reveal now.

Any news regarding in-game roster editor?

No confirmation of it, apparently something that's been worked on though.
