I appreciate those that took the time to view and comment this year on my NBA Live 18 videos.

To me, Live 18 is the best in the series. I've been editing rosters for months, then playing two 12min games (home and road) vs each team I edit, then make some final tweaks and test again.

Here are some highlights from my games vs the CPU, I always use the Pistons, some plays on defense are by AI controlled teammates. These are not dunk or game winning highlights. It's just a bunch of plays meant to showcase realistic basketball and smart ball movement by that CPU.

I actually bought a copy on eBay to play again. Have you updated the roster and added rookies yourself?

Any tips you have for picking up the game again would be appreciated

I did not update rosters. My roster edits are based off of the June 2018 official rosters.

What I did for each player is drop dunk and vertical ratings - highflyers 80-83, decent dunkers 76-79, average Joe's 70-75 and do on.

Also increase Court Vision to everyone. Minimum is 70, might make it 75. Stars and Elite PG get 85 to 90s.

Also decreased rebounding. Only elite rebounders get 80-82. Decent rebounders get 76-79, etc...

Blocking - see rebounding.

Also, this game has the legacy issue every Live game had the last 20+ years -- point guard dominance. So unless it's someone like Lillard or Westbrook, for guys like Rubio I dropped layup, vertical, contested shot, drawing fouls, off dribble shot etc to very low values. This helps to balance the game.

You can see the fun we're having in that one! Definitely reminded me why and how I spent quite a bit of time with NBA Live 18 after I gave up on NBA 2K18.

I forgot how much fun nba live 18 really was and the spacing is really refreshing in 2025

My kick with it last year really solidified it as my favourite NBA Live of that generation. NBA Live 16 is admittedly a bit less canned, but otherwise I do love the feel of NBA Live 18, as well as the animations; dunks in particular.

I can't lie mate I've been playing nba live 18 all morning and despite the robot mechanics the gameplay holds up really well and it has to be some of the most fun I've had playing nba video gaming in years!

I really hope that EA Sports gives it another shot, the nba video game market needs it more than ever.

Yeah, NBA Live 18 feels like such a missed opportunity. NBA Live 19 leaned too far into The Streets and online play, with some bad tuning updates to end the year. If they'd built on NBA Live 18, I think they could still be in the mix right now. Fingers crossed that one day, somehow, some way, they get back into the game.

That's the dream Andrew, a return of nba live but honestly I'd settle for maybe a new company coming onto the scene like back in the day with "Total nba" but who am I kidding iam an nba fanboy lol bring back nba live!!

I'll take any competition too, but sentimentally, I'd definitely prefer it to be NBA Live. EA would appear to be the most likely candidate to throw their hat back into the ring, too.

I also think EA with there history are the closest company to possibly throwing the hat back in the ring and with the current state of 2k I think it would be very welcomed by the nba video gaming community that being said EAs problem is that there investors want to compete with 2k in sales and that's just not going to happen, it will take years to build up that kind of respect again.
