I will be at work when the game is finally unlocked. If we are able to atleast use a Modded folder like last year I am going to try swapping out CFs from 2K16 so that players like KD will have his old body model.
I hope this works.

Can't wait to look at the manifest file to try and find the CFs from MyCareer. I want to swap out the head coach and agent immediately. I want the bestfriend/ agent from 2K14 to be my agent. Not sure who I want as the coach.

I'm in the same boat thinking about doing the same thing. This would allow us to also get Nash/Bell from last year in the game. And some of the other hidden players (Like Marcus Camby) if he is not included in the hidden files of this years game.

That's awesome TBM. Glad to have you for 2k17, we need you.

And thanks, I plan on making tutorials again this year if things really start to fall into place with modding the game. I plan on doing the courts again (converting), etc.

Not sure If I'm getting the game this year so please let me know if the tools are working this year. If they are not I'll try to update them asap. Games seems pretty much the same with last year so hopefully everything is going to work out of the box.

Well I think we should expand the FIBA teams since I think there are quite a few. Might as well give people the Dream team without the preorder. I got to get a PC and the game before I can start.

Good to hear from you. Anything you need, let us know. Your tool combined with Limnonos tool would be perfect again for this year. I will be trying the current explorer tool to see if it works with the game. I'll let you know once I find out.

I am desperatly in need of something to add Cyberfaces to draft classes and i am sure i am not alone with this issue. Sadly Generated rookies while they do look better due to the much improved lighting are still a big immersion breaker.

I would gladly help anyway i can. I am no programing expert by any means but i am not totally unexperienced with Modding Games.
So if anyone who works on any kind of way to add Cyberfaces and needs help, i'll gladly help.

Hi all,

heres the update. The input tool doesn't work, so that will need to be redone.

However good news, I tested Gregs tool, and it opened 0A and OC, not OB and OD. Why is this good news? Because it means the current tool can be used, it just needs to be tweaked to the current files (0A was English.iff etc). There are more files in the main folder this year. See screenshots below

game is running at 1 FPS for me so I will have to wait to try swapping out CFs. I will try explorer in the mean time.

Just for curiosity sake...can you rename nba2k17.exe to nba2k16.exe and just try lo load one CF into MOD folder and see if it will load the CF?

I can't think why the tool is partially working. I'll have to see whats going on once i get my hands on the game files. It seems like those empty archives are like placeholders for the upcoming patches. So finally there is going to be some consistency on the way the game is patched and where new the content is going to be placed.

Hey Greg, glad to have you back.

There's a couple of things I think you should take into consideration when and if you start working on another Explorer. I remember in NBA 2K16's Explorer we couldn't import multiple files at once. It was kind of annoying having to exit and re-enter each time you wanted to import something. I remember TBM said that you would fix it in the next patch (which never came to fruition). Hopefully this can be the year we can make big strides in modding. Unfortunately we are limited in what we can do due to the lack of modders, and you seem to be the only one who can make these kind of tools so no pressure okay :P

Pandahero stated he added Alston and other missing players (stated this in the viper roster thread). I asked him which tool he used. Hopefully he shares.

Also, I think it's great they have the same structure, finally consistency. Last year, we basically had everything we needed other than an offline roster editor. This is how we were able to evolve with thinks like the UBR, URB, FIBA rosters, college rosters, etc by being able to work with the same file structure year in and year out.

Greg, you make a good point. I'm wondering if I should have messed around with it a little more. However. Your directory in current explorer can only open up to like 2z, these files go up to like 3z (many more files). So the tool needs to be tweaked.

TBM, for the input tool.... can a simple thing be done like changing the language of the tool to recognize NBA 2k17 instead of 16 because the file structure is the same?

Gregs tool, input tool, and limnono tool are all major players in what we want to do.
