Do you have the CF for Ernie Johnson that removes his glasses?

yeah I do, why?

I'm guessing it's because that particular cyber face has caused crashing, but I'm sure TBM will respond when he sees it.

Yeah, that CF caused my game to crash also. Remove it and all your crashing issues will go away.

no prob man, the install instructions are in the download thread, copied below. It's takes a few mins, but once you have reshade installed you can use it for all of your games easily.

1) Download "Reshade Framework 1.0.0" from http://reshade.me/

2) Extract Reshade files to a location of your choice (I recommend creating a reshade folder wherever you save important game files).

3) Download my settings, using the download button at the bottom of this post, and extract the "goldenstate77" folder to your desktop or any temporary location.

4) Within my settings folder "goldenstate77" copy and paste the "ReShade" folder to the ReShade Files you saved from steps 1 and 2

5) Run "mediator.exe" (i.e. double click it)

6) Click "Add" on the left, and locate "NBA2K16.exe" (typically c:\program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NBA 2K16)

7) Be sure Direct3D 10/11 is checked (defaults to Direct 3D 9)

8) Click "Confirm"

9) Within the blank drop down box (on right), select "goldenstate77" preset (or one of my 2K15 presets--"additional color", "broadcast", or "lighting overhaul"

10) Click "Apply" on upper right.

11) Close Mediator, fire up the game.

Note 1: You should see rehade start up as you start the game.

Note 2: You can switch between my 2K16 preset, "goldenstate77", and any of my 2K15 presets "additional color", "broadcast", and "lighting overhaul" by opening mediator, selecting the preset, and clicking "apply".

NOTE

- You can toggle effect with "scroll lock" key, and take screenshots with the "print screen" key. Screenshots are saved in your NBA 2K16 folder.
- The mod will brighten the game a bit. If it's too bright, try turning down your monitor's brightness. Everyone runs different settings...

no prob glad it worked out. You can switch between the 4 settings by alt-tab out of game (with mediator running). Just select one of the other settings in mediator then click "apply".

For some reason it work just on that day. Now when I start a game after the Ernie, Kenny, and Shaq intro it crashes before the start of the game. I'm not sure if an update is making it do this.

hmm do you have other mods installed? If so I would start there...because it still works fine for me, and I'm sure this board would light up if it was crashing for others. can you tell me about your system (hardware/OS)? Thanks man.

Thanks and which operating system are you using (i.e. Windows 7, 10, Vista, etc..). It shouldn't matter but depending on the operating system we may be able to try a couple things.

I'm sure you've done this but in case you haven't, please check the integrity of the game cache in steam (right click on the game, select properties, navigate to local files, and then select "check integrity of game cache"--or something like that, I'm going from memory).

It's a bit strange because in my experience with reshade, sweetfx, gemfx, etc., either will load perfectly and work, or cause a crash immediately as the game loads. Can you double check in reshade mediator....chose nba2k16.exe, click update. double check that dx11 is selected? if not, select dx11 and then click "apply".

I'm in new York this week for work but when I get back I'll play around and look at the log files, to see what is happening around the time when your game crashes. Sorry I really can't think of what could be causing the game to crash after the intro. But I can look at the reshade log file when the game transitions into the game, and see what is happening. Might shed some light on the root of the problem.
