I still use your nba 2k15 sweetfx mod (v1-standard and v3-broadcast) and it works just fine with nba 2k16.

Will try out Goldenstate77's Reshade Settings 1.0 in a moment.

I couldn't get last year's version to work for 2k16. Did you do anything different or just pasted it in the main files folder like last year?

It works. I ran nba 2k15 sweetfx mod (SweetFX for Win 10, 8.1 & 7 (by goldenstate77)) both in Windows 10 (x64) and Windows 7 (x64). I just copied sweetFX files from the folder which matches the windows version I was using at the time in the game folder and ran the game. Make sure you have steam in game overlay disabled and do not run fps software like FRAPS at the initial launch of the game. FRAPS runs fine if you launch it after the game has launched, however FRAPS will crash the game if you run it before you launched the game.

I did all of that. Even disabled my firewall and uninstalled Fraps and nvidia experience
Still wouldn't boot. But it worked fine for 2k15 . I'm stumped

Re: Goldenstate77's NBA2K16 Reshade Settings (and 3 bonus NBA 2K15 settings!)

Postby goldenstate77 on Sun Nov 01, 2015 1:44 am

Folks--i added 3 bonus presets from 2k15:

-additional color
-broadcast
-lighting overhaul

you go through the same install process. Note that once installed, you can switch between my 2k16 "goldenstate77" preset, and any of the 2k15 settings while in game via reshade's mediator app. just make sure nba 2k16 is selected (on the left) and choose the preset in the drop down menu. click "apply".

note that i didn't modify the settings, so I'm not sure if the nba 2k15 settings look good or bad. I'm leaving for vacation and need to do a bunch of stuff, so I don't have time to play around with them myself. just wanted to post before i left, for those of you who have asked for the 2k15 settings.

have fun!

you can see screenshots of the different nba 2k15 settings here. I'm out for a couple of weeks, but perhaps someone else will post some shots of 2k16 with the settings.

Try deleting the reshade files from nba 2k15 folder (reshade.fx, dxgi.dll, dxgi.log), delete the reshape folder you saved (where mediator is), and start the install process from the very beginning. I just added a few presets, so it shouldn't by itself make the mid crash. Let me know if this works

My bad.. I think it was one of the cyberface mod that caused it to crash. I re-dl the original file and it works fine now. :applaud:

Very odd. Since in my case all of them (all SweetFX mods (both from goldenstate77 and Kevin and others) work just by copying Sweetfx files in the NBA 2k16 game folder.
Nonetheless now after goldenstate77 added "3 bonus presets from 2k15" you can get the same effect using Reshade. goldenstate77 nba2k16 reshade settings seem to be a little to bright in respect of players lighting (especially the faces..it makes some white players look like chalk :D), however the crowd is too dark in some view angles.

Hey jay-r, thanks man. you might try adjusting your monitor settings a bit e.g. Brightness, contrast and modes, etc. every monitor is different...I have a dell, which are extremely bright beyond the 40% brightness mark (I have it at 35% brightness day to day). But I definitely tried to brighten the game, as i felt default is way too dark, and I tried to go for a more realistic, stadium lighting feel. It shouldn't be chalky though. If it's a common complaint I can adjust it, or you can wait for my second release, which I was testing as I left for vacation. Back in about 12 days and will release.

What a great reshade settings! But, in my opinion it feels just a little bit too contrast and a little too dark on the shadow area (goldenstate77 setting) :)
note: After the latest update (November), sometimes its causes the game to crash to desktop

RAW glad you like it and thanks for the feedback. I adjust the TV levels (black and white points), and the side effect is contrast. I can try to counteract it a bit in the next release, and take another look at the shadows. also, did you mean that you are experiencing crashes after the latest 2k16 patch or my update with the three 2k15 settings? If the latter, try reinstalling because the additional settings shouldn't affect stability.

Hey man sorry to hear that. Curious if anyone else is getting crashes? One more thing to check. On the reshade website there is a list of requisite files...certain redistributables etc. perhaps try reinstalling those just to be sure that you have all of them. I'm away from home and my computer until Friday, but was planning to finish up my second release over the weekend. Also steam overlay can cause issues sometimes, so try disabling. And try with no background programs (if you're running any... E.g afterburner rivatuner, precision, fraps, etc.)

Hey goldenstate77, I follow your work since 2K15 and it's marvelous. Nice to see you working on 2K16 too. I have the same problem that RAW. Ocassionaly the game crashes to desktop. It happens sometimes when a game is about to start, on the loading screen with 99%, when I save and quit a game, when It's loading the main menu, and even when the intro video ends. It's not all the time, but it's frustraiting so I'm not using it anymore.
It's a shame because this new reshade is just amazing. Anyway, keep on your nice work (Y)
