M$points to Local $ - 1 Year Expiration

Postby JaoSming on Thu Jun 13, 2013 2:38 am

Part of the E3 stuff included Microsoft moving away from their points system and moving towards local currency. FAQ on it is up and interesting.

When the Fall 2013 dashboard update hits, all remaining MSP will be converted to local currency.
The money that was transferred/converted/whatever will expire in 1 year from the date it changes.

So yea. looks like I have nearly $40 to use up this summer.

Not a bad move, probably one of the few positive things to come out of Microsoft at E3.

Unless you have more points than you'd ever use in a year, which I probably do.

Fair call. I personally don't, but I may well be in the minority there. I usually only top up when there's something I want.

As do I, it's just that the WWE games each year are the only things I use points for and they make you buy a ton of them at once. That, and I'm not sure I'll get WWE 2k14, given the effort I've gone to in setting up my Universe in 13 and the fact that I'm extremely happy with the way it plays.
