Wayne's World

1) Wayne's World
2) Wayne's World 2

Bill And Ted

1) Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
2) Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey

Austin Powers

1) Austin Powers in Goldmember
2) Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
3) Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me

------------------------

With the View Askewniverse, my list is:

1) Clerks
2) Chasing Amy
3) Dogma
4) Mallrats
5) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
6) Clerks II

I thought Jay and Bob Strike Back was the more logical conclusion to that series.

And as far as I'm concerned, there was only 1 Shrek movie

The best part of that is they blew up the entire franchise by demanding Venom be in the film. The film they got would have easily split into two films that could be shot back to back and hit the releases they wanted. First you have a film with the sympathetic Sandman as the "villain" while Peter goes "bad" from the symbiote. And Peter just is all dicky about it making Sandman even more sympathetic and Peter look even worse, and he gets rid of the symbiote at the end because he almost kills Sandman or something and that's over the line! Then you can have Venom in the second film.
Oznogrd wrote:Star Wars I pretty much agree but i feel like episodes 3 and and 2 were leagues above phantom menace. Maybe its just less Jar Jar.

Any scene featuring Anakin in the trilogy is terrible and II and III have more of them. Phantom Menance has the best actual plot (then II which is slightly less good, III has no actual plot, it's the endgame of the first two) and it has the best Jedi/Sith duel of the entire franchise. It also has the best climatic battle overall if it wasn't for the fact Anakin and Jar Jar were half of the central characters.

The films improve massively in quality if you skip 95% of the Anakin scenes and 85% of the Padme ones and consider it to actually be about Obi-Wan and Palpatine. (They're some of the easiest bad movies to fix really because you have so much of the story pre-established, it's everything Lucas tried to rewrite and change that falls apart.) Lucas apparently thought it's not a real story unless you destroy everything anyone could like about your most popular character.
Batman: flip return and original. Nicholson > pffeifer/devito

Yes, but Returns is the far superior story. Batman's is kinda lame, but Returns is deliciously complex as I've rambled on a few times. Compare how Returns entirely handles THREE "villains" compared to how Forever, & Robin, Begins and TDK all fail to juggle just two.
Indy: Short round and sean connery flip ToD and Last Crusade.

I have no problems with this. I like both of them. Raiders is just the clear best one. It's too bad they never did a fourth movie.

Just like they never did any crossover films with the Alien and Predator franchises? :shifty:

Rambo
First Blood
Rambo: First Blood Part II
Rambo III

Rambo III is last in my list because it was a horrible political film trying to be an action film, which made it even worse.
In Rambo II he was in his element but the movie was merely watching Rambo doing 'play time' in the jungle because that's the shite he was really good at and meant to do.
I placed Rambo (IV) higher than First Blood because of the circumstances of the character. In First Blood, Rambo was a scared and confused killing machine and only fought back because he was pushed into a corner. In Rambo (IV) it was way better, John Rambo is now an experienced killing machine who's a pissed off grumpy old man with nothing better to do. I prefer a pissed off killing machine with lots of free time in his hands than a confused and scared one.

I joked about it but then after looking I had to do it.
Star Trek
1. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
2. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn
3. Star Trek: First Contact
4. Galaxy Quest
5. Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
6. Star Trek Into Darkness
7. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
8. Star Trek: Nemesis
9. Star Trek: Insurrection
10. Star Trek
11. Star Trek: The Motion Picture
12. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
13. Star Trek: Generations

Batman
1. Batman Returns
2. Batman
3. The Dark Knight
4. Batman Begins
5. The Dark Knight Rises
6. Batman Forever
7. Batman & Robin

I need to watch First Class finally.
Just saw these again recently and Oz is right I'm flipping them. I must have seen Temple of Doom more recently last time.
Indiana Jones
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
2. The Last Crusade
3. Temple of Doom

I'll also take on the others. I'll stick to Oz's on The Godfather even though years ago we were supposed to love II.

This one is actually hard:
View Askewniverse
0. Clerks: The Animated Series
1. Dogma
2. Clerks
3. Chasing Amy
4. Clerks II
5. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
6. Mallrats

Though if you offered me any of 2-5 to just put on TV while I do other shit, I'd probably pick "Strike Back"

Here's a new one, and this is literally every Harry Potter film I have seen (saw parts of others):
1. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

The Matrix
1. The Matrix
2. The Matrix Reloaded
3. The Matrix Revolutions
(Does anyone actually have a different order on this? I've never met or even come across another. I actually think parts of Reloaded are the best parts in the franchise but others in the same film are so horrible it can't be better than the first...maybe I can be convinced otherwise...)

Someone try to order the Transformer movies. I couldn't. Plus I've only seen them all through Rifftrax.

I started to do James Bond but I was like fuck it...Casino Royale might be my actual favorite (including the joke one as well!) out of all of them, but...

And coming back to this two years later, Phantom Menance is still better than Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Lucas burned himself out on that plot trying to set everything in motion. (And fucked himself by trying to rewrite stuff instead of tweak it.)

And the Darth Maul parts are the best in the ENTIRE FRANCHISE. (Well, film version.)

this is seriously the only way movie studios can continue to make big bucks at the theaters. (<-wow i just spelled that with an "re", damn you australians!) their only draw is using a name people are familiar with

Mission Impossible
1. MI
2. MI 2 (a close second)
3. MI 3

Have not watched MI 4 yet

Fast series
1. The F&F
2. F&F
3. 2F2F <-I thought I watched this movie, but now i don't actually remember watching it
been meaning to watch fast 5 so i can go watch fast 6.
6. The F&F: Tokyo Drift

It's not the only way, but it's the easiest way. Paranormal Activity and The Hangover for example both did so well they then became franchises. But they could have easily bombed out instantly never to be heard from again.

And Green Lantern seemed primed and ready to start a DC universe to match Marvel's split one.

An interesting one will be the Avatar sequel.

Transformers: The Movie
Transformers (because of John Turturro)
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (because of the chick)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (this one made the least sense out of the three)

I would have placed Dark of the Moon at 2nd if only it had more robot screen time.

I watched the sixth one last night. They somehow found a way to outdo themselves in the ridiculous stunts/physics department.

The idea of them going up against The Transporter in the seventh one is somewhat interesting though.
