Indeed, that's pretty poor to limit the alternate costumes to the PS3. I wouldn't mind if the 360 was getting some exclusives of its own but that doesn't seem to be the case. I too would at least like the Masked Kane alternate. (N)

Lean, I didn't know you got the game, let alone an NG console?! Or are you just sharing the suffering with us? :)

I have neither. I was just rambling about this pack that actually is not enough to be considered worthy of a download. Actually I was a fan of the SvR series before it shifted into the NG consoles. :(

I saw the PS3 Exclusive DLC and it really sucks for the XBOX 360 users. I'm not sure but I think that's pretty much what DLC will offer the SVR gamers.

And it would be a start since they haven't done DLC before, but giving 360 users such a limited pack doesn't seem fair.

The Create-a-Superstar patch is now out for the PS3 version, with the Xbox 360 update soon to follow. Since I can't be bothered playing through Career Mode, I think I'll just use the code to unlock unlimited attribute points straight away.

You still gotta earn your abilites though. The patch does not allow you to assign them indivdually. But if you don't want an ability you unlocked for your CAS then, with the patch, you can skip it.

True, but for anyone who wants to quickly create themselves or missing wrestlers and not have weaker stats than the Divas it's good enough.

Is this game any good?

I've bought all the SvR games but the storylines disappoint me, how are they this year? Can we update the game if we got it for PS3?

Like if a superstar changes his look or his theme..is there any way to update the game?

It's a step up from last year, Road to Wrestlemania is pretty good though The Undertaker's storyline is a bit disappointing, truth be told.

You can't freely edit original wrestler appearances but you can edit which brand they are on (doesn't affect Road to Wrestlemania) including giving them a Free Agent or Legends classification. Some wrestlers have alternate attires and there are downloadable packs with some more alternates currently available for the PS3 version.

Does anyone still play this game? I got tired of this game because it's very hard to raise the attributes of the Caws. It would take you weeks to raise the stats(I don't play that much so it takes to much time) and I can't download the Caw patch because I got ps2.

I haven't played for a while but when they finally release the updates for the Xbox 360 version I'll get back into it at least for a little while.

EDIT: Checked out the official site and there's still no word on the release dates for the Xbox 360 updates. I was hoping it'd be by the end of January but that's obviously come and gone.

My interest is waning too. I guess 360 users get their fair share of exclusives and whatnot but it's been over a month since the updates for PS3 were released. Exclusive content is one thing, that's the price you pay for deciding on one console over another but if nothing else the official update is simple customer service and product support.

Depends what you're after, a wrestling game or basketball game. They don't exactly cater to the same audience. ;)

Word. It's been almost two months since they released it for the PS3. What's the freaking problem?
I kinda lose my faith that they ever release it for us, I mean, we didn't even get the demo.

Also, that's an incredible dumb move financially. Don't they think that they would sell more packs of DLC when people were actually still playing the game?? Seriously, I bet there are many people out there who would have bought it, if it came out simultaneously with the PS3's, but with every day passed I think more people stop playing the game and with that, decide not to buy it, if it ever comes out.

Exactly. Look what Guitar Hero and the other music games are doing with their DLC, or even what Bethesda is doing for Fallout 3 and Rockstar have done with GTA IV (though those are is admittedly 360 exclusive). They're taking a very smart approach to the DLC, adding significant replay value once gamers have had ample time to play the game out of the box or in the case of Guitar Hero and its ilk, giving gamers incentive to pick it up again every so often when some new songs are released. As you said that's great business, giving gamers premium content in a situation where they're still interested in the game and willing to shell out the equivalent of a few dollars in Microsoft points to try something new with the game.

I just don't know. The fact that we're getting a smaller pack still hurts too, that we have to wait longer for less. I mean, I've had fun playing SDvRAW 2009 but I'm not impressed with how THQ has handled this DLC situation for us 360 users.

I've seen March 31st as the suggested release date for the Xbox 360 DLC. Who knows what to believe anymore.

It's a speculation floating around because somewhere it says (on IGN.com I think) that the DLC will be released in the first quarter of the year, so the 31st would be the last date possible.
I'm pretty sure that this day will pass as all the others and we'll never see DLC.

I'm starting to think that too, though presumably they'll need to release an update to allow us to transfer players from SDvRAW 2009 to LoW so maybe they'll kill two birds with one stone as far as the Xbox 360 version is concerned. Honestly, I'd probably still get the DLC just to have a bit more of a run with the game but I too am rapidly losing hope that it'll ever come out.

Andrew How good is this game (smackdown vs. raw 09)? After watching some youtube videos I find the animations a bit jerky. There are no fluid transitions but it looks like animations chained together.

Move 1, move 2...but the action between these two moves is not that clean. I sometimes play the old Smackdown for Nintendo 64 and like its animations a lot better than those of 2009.
