heres mine

1 Jim Thorpe- The most versatile athlete of all time, Thorpe was an olympic champion in the decatholon and the pentatholon who had his medal stripped from him because he played minor league baseball at the time. He was also an american football legend who was later inducted to the pro football hall of fame.

2 Babe Didrikson- Babe was the greatest female athlete of all time period. She was track star and the best women's golfer in the world. She played many other sports but in no other sport did she equal her accomplishments in track and golf.

3 Babe Ruth- Babe Ruth was the greatest baseball player of all time. No other play has every dominated both ways of the game. Ruth, Started out as an all star pitcher for the boston red sox and than later (after frazee sold him the the yankees so he could produce a play) moved to right field where he dominated opposing pitchers. Ruth still holds hitting and pitching records in the major leagues

4 Wilt Chamberlain- the 100 point game, the 50 point a game season. don't let his free throw percentage fool you Wilt truly dominated and revolutionized the game of basketball. Wilt would pound you all day in the post and he knew how to win. Wilt ran the court better than all the centers that he played against.

5. Jesse Owens- The Fastest man to ever live. He once broke or tied four world records in a matter of 45 minutes in the 1936 olympics in berlin. while that being a remarkable feat by its self he also showed up hitler in the process by showing the aryan race was not superior to the rest of the world.

i went on total athletic abilty. which means you would have to be multi talented athletically example Jim thorpe dominated 3 different sports thats why i listed him no 1. although pele was the greatest soccer player of the century his accomplishments wern't nearly as impressive as the likes of Thorpe, Didrickson, and Ruth

You must be kidding me by saying that... When Pelé went to Africa in the mid-60s to play an exibithion game there with Santos (his team), there was a war goin' on... People temporarily stopped the war to go see Pelé play...

I think ALI is the best. As a boxer we saw the greatest quickness (check out those feet and hands), strength (ability to take a punch in the rumble in the jungle), stamina (ability to survive the thriller in manilla), reflexes (unmatched) and coordination (vast array of combination punches). And these remarkable qualities would allow him to dominate many sports. Track and field sports no doubt. But the sport i think he would have been legendary in, is none other than basketball. ALI is tall enough and quick enough to be an amazing basketball player.

1. ALI
2. Jordan
3. Pele
4. Ruth
5. Owens

So...anyone gonna explain their reasoning behind putting Jordan on any of the top 5s? Since James did ask for an explanation.

He is the most recogniseable sporting figure on the planet. He dominated his sport more than any other sportsman. He is also one of the most successful in career achievements.
