Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Teaser trailer:

Initially, I wasn't too interested about this movie since we'll basically know how the movie ends (for SW fans). But after seeing the trailer, I might rethink about skipping it. Visually it looks great, but dialogue's a little meh. What do you guys think?

My prediction is this movie will be subpar but will do very well because it says "A Star Wars Story" in the title. I don't know what I think of that samurai guy... weren't people complaining there was too many Human like characters in the movies and they should try to add more diversity?

I guess they understood "adding more diversity" as "add more women leads and Asians" though :| I do hope they reveal more non-human-like characters as the hype goes on...

It looks interesting, and I'll probably see it in the theatre, though I'm not as excited for it as I was Episode VII, or am for Episode VIII.

Well, this looks ten times better than JJ's overly long rehash garbage.

Other genres (spy/action in this case) in Star Wars' universe, that's how you do this.

I'll blame Gary Whitta for the on-the-nose dialogue.

Had to do some lel'in at the prequel babies going "ANOTHER FILM ABOUT A PLANET DESTROYING SUPER-WEAPON?!?", it's set just before/during the original you dopes, not another death star redux, it's the "good people" who died to get the plans to the Rebellion Leia mentioned!

It'll be funny if after Episode IX we look back and all three of the side-stories are way better than the three episodes. And Disney chooses to cut the side-stories while putting out Episode X-XXXL. (The wait between IX and X will not be less than seven years. This is happening, you know, I know it, everyone knows it. That's why George recently lamented the sale.)

Went to see it last night. I enjoyed it, as I did The Force Awakens. There's always going to be some degree of predictability in prequels, and I kind of saw the end coming, but I thought it was still well done, suitably epic (and a tad emotional, for that matter). Darth Vader was probably at his most badass, and was used quite effectively.

Saw this on opening weekend. Despite having two Asians in this and being a good movie overall,I still liked Ep 7 a little more
