Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

A heel turn is well overdue. His character is heelish, the crowd reactions are negative, but the narrative still portrays him as a face.

Hell in a Cell was a good show. Both Cell matches were amazing. I think it's great that Jinder gets to win clean. Plus, SAMI ZAYN HEEL TURN?!?

Certainly strikes me as a rather weird twist in the story.

his character has been stale for quite some time. This will give him something to do for the near future.

I agree. Without knowing what the full plan is, I feel confident that this is the absolute best thing that could've happened to him. He's been doing nothing and going no where forever. Needs a change, and hopefully this is it. It was the saving grace to a show that, after the HIAC Tag Match, was very forgettable. Jinder winning clean took the entire air out of the building. Roode and Dolph wrestled in what sounded like an empty building immediately following it.

I missed both the Nakamura-Mahal and Roode-Ziggler matches as I had to eat lunch. I completely forgot about Roode and Ziggler's match too.

You didn't miss much. Though, admittedly, I think Mahal sucks, and not in the heel heat sucks way; in the get this guy off my TV cause he sucks way.

Mahal's reign reminds me of JBL's, and unfortunately, it's probably going to last just as long. It's hard to buy him as a world champion, after such a quick push from being a jobber. Fair point about Zayn, it's definitely better than creative having nothing for him and not utilising him.

Earlier in the week they announced an India tour so I figured he'll stay champion at least through the tour

I've read that he might hold the belt until the Royal Rumble, if not Wrestlemania.

I talked with my brother about this exact point. I said that the babyface who'll be booked to beat him will be the next over guy, like how Cena was in 2005. Cena went up the ranks at least, going through the US title first before going to the main event. I also kinda hoped that Sami would be that guy to beat Jinder for the title.

There were rumors that when Cena returns around the Royal Rumble, he'll be challenging Jinder for the title, and might win #17. At this point, WWE should be booking the new guys to be winning the world titles.

I think at this point it would be great for him to turn. His angle and promos about him looking a certain way is probably an angle better suited for a face kinda like what Mustafa Ali is doing. Or they should have him get the band back together. Plus a lot of people cheer him and respect the work that he's put in to become champion so I could see him feuding with a Baron corbin or Kevin Owens as a face

Yeah, Cena was really over before his main event push began, and even a little ways into it. Once his character got stale and the Superman booking kicked in, that's when the crowd started to turn and it became fashionable to hate him.

Apparently, some of the Raw guys got sidelined for some viral infection (reported by pro wrestling news sites to be meningitis). TLC has been re-booked, with Kurt Angle replacing Roman Reigns and AJ Styles replacing Bray Wyatt.

Sucks that they are sick but already 2 huge improvements to the card

Can't wait to see what Kurt's got left in him. Hope he comes out with the gold medals and pyro and everything

Figured Kurt had a couple more matches in him, but thought they'd save them for a bigger event. That's awesome, though. Hope he can have one last Wrestlemania match.

Even microbes had enough of Reigns push.

Hoping to hear a "Thank you, microbes!" chant at TLC now.

Wouldn't be surprised if there would be actual chants about meningitis during the PPV. Meningitis is already being called the best booking of the year, best new RAW talent, and better than Vince according to social media posts.

speculation that kurt angle is a bait and switch where he'll mysteriously get attacked and Jason Jordan will take his place. Then they'll find out it was him and wouldn't be surprised if it was under Triple H's direction leading to a Survivor Series match between the two.

I could absolutely see WWE pulling a stunt like that. I think a match between the two where Angle puts over Jordan is something they could build to and is perhaps inevitable, in the process revealing that he isn't actually his son. However, it would be a pretty disingenuous move to hype up his in-ring return for TLC, only to pull a bait and switch.

Stoked for Asuka's debut, the AJ-Balor match, and Kurt's return.

My initial thought when I heard this was that it's a waste to just dump Angle into this match, when his return match could've been a great angle and book. After second thought, though, I'm just glad to see him perform again, and think that this, as well as the Styles substitution could wind up being excellent matches, despite not having build ups (the Wyatt Balor build up was cringe worthy bad as it was). I'm optimistic.

I agree it would look bad if they hyped angle and didn't deliver, which is kind of the reason why he's in there to begin with. Hyping the shield but then not getting the reunion... so I could see them trying to make good for the fans, like Triple H showing up in place of Kevin Owens in South America.
