I agree with Andrew. I hate how they are trying to push him down our throats the way Cena was but otherwise I don't think he's that bad. When they had the shield I didn't like them but Roman was my favorite out of the three

At this point I much prefer Reigns to Ambrose.
Sat May 06, 2017 10:18 am
I'd take Rollins over both.

Adam Cole (Bay Bay!) to NXT?
Mon May 15, 2017 12:31 pm
I bet he'll be renamed as Cole Adams.
Sun May 21, 2017 1:45 pm
I stopped watching NXT weekly a little while ago....and after tonight, I'm back in.
Doesn't matter if you come in cold without watching, check Takeover Chicago out. Holy Shit. Dunne Bate was pretty much perfect, Roode & Hideo had great in-ring storytelling, and the Tag Ladder match was a damn car wreck. And the ending.
Just, dammit NXT.

I was about to skip the UK match but when I heard JR's voice, I watched it and I'm glad I did.
I'm a big Ember Moon fan, and it sucked she got hurt but not sure exactly what they are doing with Asuka. I'm guessing they want her English to get better before moving her up so maybe she'll drop the title to the Women's tournament winner?
I read somewhere that there was going to be a turn, but I liked the copyright graphic fakeout. haha that was clever.
solid show all around, and yeah i've been a lot less enthusiastic about NXT lately but man this was pretty damn good
Mon May 22, 2017 8:19 am
God damn what a show Takeover was. That ending! My niece and I were watching that night, and when the copyright graphic appeared, I told her that DIY is going up to the main roster. We didn't expect the turn.
Match of the night for me was the UK title match.

What are the chances that Jinder Mahal walks out of Backlash as the champion?

Pretty good, apparently.

Need the Maharaja to hold that belt for the next 3 years please thank you.

Betting odds predicted that he would take it. Somewhere in the world, Barry Horowitz is slapping the handprint on his back
Mon May 22, 2017 3:07 pm
You know, for all the talk that you shouldn't bet on pro wrestling - and I personally don't, though I admittedly don't bet in general either - the odds are pretty consistent in their predictions.
Mon May 22, 2017 3:25 pm
It's been discussed on the Taz Show before that there is normally a mole that will leak out the results to those sites...so the only way to really make any kind of money by betting would be picking matchups that could be changed at the last moment, or getting bets in ASAP. IIRC, Wreddit had a thread go up when the betting odds changed from Orton to Jinder a little over 24 hours ago.
Nice PPV overall though, but it really couldn't match what I saw last night though. AJ & KO was a great watch at least though.....but I'm really not feeling main roster Nakamura after that first match....there is definitely a limiter & change of style at play there.
Mon May 22, 2017 4:25 pm
Or you could bet on the pretty obvious picks before they become locked in. Nakamura was like -500 which is pretty doable as a pretty safe bet and then jumped to -2500. Ironically even after the leaks, Mahal wasn't a huge favorite for obvious reasons. loved the looks on everyone's faces after he won
I did like the extra aggression and showmanship from Nakamura. I think that definitely helped make the match a bit better. I tihnk he's going to need to play that up a bit more to be successful on the main roster.

I'm not gonna compare Backlash to Takeover, but that was a good show by main roster standards. Owens-Styles is unsurprisingly the match of the night.
Backlash > Payback
Smackdown > RAW
I do hope Jinder makes it past this coming Smackdown with the title still with him.
Owens on Talking Smack was gold.

So, Samoa Joe is the #1 contender for Brock Lesnar's WWE Universal Championship. On one hand, it's awesome to see him getting a push on the main roster. On the other hand, it's concerning as to how they're going to book his match with Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire. Surely they can't just feed him to Lesnar, but will they actually book Lesnar to have a competitive match, or even put Joe over? It'd be a shame to see Joe reduced to a stopgap program until Reigns takes the title at Summerslam, which I could completely see them doing. They've really written themselves into a corner as far as Lesnar is concerned, and it hasn't helped ratings or the quality of the product one bit. Perhaps a ratings spike here and there, but that means nothing, especially when he's hardly around and keeping RAW's big belt away from full-timers.
Tue Jun 06, 2017 1:51 am
I actually fell asleep watching the 5 way match. It's weird because everybody knows that they're doing reigns vs Brock eventually so whoever wins the match is taking the L and you have to protect Finn so it was down to 3 options. Honestly I was expecting Seth but I'm sure they want to protect him too so they picked between bray and joe
Tue Jun 06, 2017 2:22 am
Surprised they didn't decide to feed Bray to Lesnar, come to think of it.
Tue Jun 06, 2017 4:32 am
Ha that is very true. Considering that, Samoa Joe could very well be booked much like Bray on the main roster
Tue Jun 06, 2017 10:09 am
They've made him look strong so far, so fingers crossed they don't mess it up. I guess stranger things have happened; Jinder Mahal is the WWE Champion, after all.
Tue Jun 06, 2017 11:58 am
I cringed at the Raw Women's Title match.
