I do prefer their cinematic scenes over the traditional "backstage" or locker room promos

I like that chick that was Maxine in wwe

First Dusty, now Roddy. Two legends, two of the greatest talkers in the history of the business. 69 and 61, but that still feels too young. RIP.

I could imagine the conversations in McMahon's office.

"WE NEED A NEW NAME FOR THIS FINE STRONG AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAP! WHO WAS THAT BLACK GUY IN THE ROCKY SERIES? APOLLO CREWS? THAT'LL BE HIS NEW NAME DAMMIT!"

Great NXT show tonight. all matches were solid if not great despite the results being somewhat predictable. regular show has fallen off since all of the good people have moved up but it was nice to see them put on a good show again

UHAA NATION/APOLLO CREWS :bowdown2: :bowdown2: :bowdown2:

HOLY SHIT THAT BAYLEY/SASHA MATCH :bowdown2: :bowdown2: :bowdown2: :bowdown2:

The only nitpick I have for that match is there are a few big moves which I know those 2 can do but decided not to because "story-telling" but other than that match is still good.

Pretty solid show, and the main event was pretty damn good, the match we could've had at Wrestlemania XXX if not for Taker's concussion, but...that finish. That finish spoiled it, somewhat.

Really, I felt that Lesnar had to lose clean. Most of his matches are too similar, and he's become too over-protected, to the point where there's no intrigue. He needs to look dominant, but beatable if his opponent is also among the best of the best, and wrestles the match of their life. Taker deserved to get redemption, a lose wouldn't hurt Brock and would've kept things fresh. I get what they were going for, but I don't think it was the right finish.

Jon Stewart turning heel just felt random. Ah well, at least they didn't needlessly have Ambrose or Reigns turn on each other. IC match was fun for what it was, with Miz going for pin after pin.

It's well on the way.

Fun moment too, just like his sit-up against Bray Wyatt, while Wyatt was doing his spiderwalk.

The Dudley Boyz and Sting returned and nobody here is going apeshit?

Also hinting at a John Cena hell turn?

Ok.

They've hinted at a Cena heel turn every now and then for the past five years or so. It'll never happen.

I did like his "THIS IS NOT A COMEDY SHOW" line, given his usual promos.

Yeah, I'm not expecting a heel turn. I think Paul Heyman put it best in a shoot interview: John Cena is basically himself on screen (for better or worse), and he not only makes the WWE a lot of money through merch, but he draws a reaction. Some people pay to go cheer him, others pay for the ability to boo and jeer at him. He's technically a babyface and presented as one of the top competitors they have, but not everyone likes him...not unlike athletes in real sports with no predetermined winner. I think he could cut down on some of the corniness, and there are problems with the way he's booked, but I don't think it's a bad thing that he's technically a face but still draws some negative reactions.

Kinda nice to see both Dudleys in the WWE again. I certainly wasn't expecting that. As for Sting, while he is past his prime, I would like to see him work a few more matches in WWE to finish out his career. He's not quite at the Hogan or Flair stage of things, where he shouldn't be working any matches.

usually returns get spoiled before they happen, but i hadn't read anything and was genuinely surprised by the dudleys. it's nice to not have things spoiled for a change lol
great to see them back. the tag division has been in a rut since Tyson's injury and since the boring PTP have been champs. I hope the dudleys don't win or get a title shot right away, but feud with other teams first.

There is no point in turning Cena heel. He's already the biggest heel and the biggest face in the company at the same time. They showed a clip where he granted his 500th Make A Wish, it's not worth it to turn him heel just so the kids hate him.
That's why FU'ing Stewart was not a heel move. Kids don't care about Stewart, he's the one that cost him the title and deserved it.

I really hope I don't have to watch Rollins wrestle Sting. There's so many guys 25 years younger I'd rather see him feud with. Rollins is an absolute beast right now, and puts on tremendous matches. Too much good talent to throw at him to have to have him carry sub-par matches with Sting for nostalgia sake. Let Sting get involved in a lesser feud, if he's going to be wrestling, with more storyline than performing.

I'd really like to see Bray get a big heel push with the Wyatt family stable. He's a great heel draw, good worker, and I'd love to see him in the Intercontinental picture, and ultimately in the World Title picture if/when Seth drops the belt to a face.

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Fri Aug 28, 2015 9:33 am

Yeah, they've had a couple of false starts with Wyatt, but he's still over and has one of the most interesting characters to come along in a while. I'd say he's an above average to good worker, not a great one, but his persona, charisma, and in-ring psychology makes up for that and then some, just as it has some other big names. Put him in there with people who can really go, and it won't be an issue.

I also agree that a slow (re)build on him would be the way to go. You can't push everyone to the top at once, and you can't have everyone in the title picture at once, either. He could really re-establish the midcard and upper midcard, before moving on to the world title.
