Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

I guess. I think the bigger issue is that they've brought back The Authority way too soon, or indeed unnecessarily, given how long the angle had run and how stale it had become. And so far, it's more of the same: abusing their power, long-winded speeches, taking up TV time that should be used to properly build up-and-coming stars.

Lol @ them "trying" to bring prestige back to the ic title when they have dolph drop it every month to whatever heel they are pushing to build heat. Hell, they don't even talk about the main championship anymore so they won't bring the attention to the fact that the champ is a part-time employee

I think they brought back the authority back so soon to build up a WM match between HHH and sting which is ridiculous because we all want sting and undertaker. But HHH wants the match so he will get it even though it's not best for business

Pretty much. They don't seem to have learned anything from last year's blunders.

So yeah, after months I've been away from the forums I've watched less Raw/Smackdown/PPVs except only if I read somewhere that it's good. My opinion that NXT is still better than the main shows still stands, and Takeover: REvolution proved just that. The Zayn-Neville match was built-up pretty well, and was ended with what the fans wanted. And Kevin F'N Owens too.

Heard that this past week Raw sucked. As firing storylines never really get sold to the viewers. I love what Ziggler does on Twitter, selling the angle by constantly plugging his comedy gigs and not mentioning anything about getting "fired" after Monday's episode (he did tweet about the "firing" but no mention of it afterwards).

And then I found this:

Apparently Jeff Hardy's bump was a work, and he's not seriously injured after all. I guess that opens up the discussion about whether stuff like that is in good taste, given some of the tragedies we've seen in professional wrestling, but if nothing else, it was a brutal spot.

Meanwhile, more "The Authority abuses their authority" on RAW. I'm considering not renewing my Network subscription when it comes due.

Looked like a pretty blatant work from the get-go, to me. Took a picture-perfect front-flip bump, right on the flat part of the stairs. Not sure where the "botch" story originally came from. Worst-case, he fucked up, fell off, managed to catch himself and bump properly.

I guess that opens up the discussion about whether stuff like that is in good taste, given some of the tragedies we've seen in professional wrestling

Stuff like what? Bumps? Worked shoots? Injury angles? I'm not seeing the problem.

Yeah jeff was looking down at the stairs the whole time so he knew they were there. No way he takes that fall without knowing what he's landing on. Apparently he can't go to Europe, so it was a way to write him off. Andrew, people get "injured" and get written off all the time, but it's not TNA's fault that a stupid gossip site (THE gossip site) picked it up and thought it was real. As with most news outlets, they have no idea what they are covering or talking about when reporting on professional wrestling. Hell, look at some of the idiotic questions Punk has been getting on Fox's shows about his UFC career. The only person that has given him a good & respectful interview is Todd Grisham who now works for ESPN

I have caught some NXT, and yeah, it's impressive. No doubt about that.

Truth be told, I say I'll cancel my subscription, but I'll probably renew it despite my dissatisfaction with the current product. It's not like it's extraordinarily expensive or anything, and the video vault alone is worth it.

I love it when KENTA -- err -- Hideo Itami sets up the GTS, crowd goes nuts and end up not hitting it because of interference.

daniel Bryan is back. I noticed he changed his missile dropkick to a flying crossbody and the suicide dive is now a diving dropkick through the ropes.

Although he did do the suicide dive in his 2nd match on smackdown later

Speaking of The Rock....

Rumours spread that Irina Shayk dumped Cristiano Ronaldo after getting close to The Rock

The story, in truth, is not all that new or clever, with the premise being that the Russian model got very close to the WWE superstar during the filming of the movie Hercules.

Moreover, it’s claimed that a huge bouquet of roses which Irina received on her birthday was not sent by Ronaldo, but rather The Rock.

She wants the People's Strudel.

He's gonna drill her so deep, they'll hit Rock Bottom.

The PPV after the Royal Rumble is called WWE Fastlane. So the Elimination Chamber is out and they'll replace it with... race matches?

Figured that I probably won't have another chance to go to a PPV, nevermind Wrestlemania, with it just on the other side of the bay from where I live.

My cousin & her husband are going to fly up and go too. It would be cool to see Sting (even though HHH will be in the match)
