Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Right now I'm reading all the results online and catching up on watching anything of interest afterwards, so I have no problem with unmarked spoilers.

It doesn't matter, based on experience here and other sites people will still click that spoiler tag and read it no matter what and if they have powers will delete your post even if it has a spoiler tag just because your post contains 'serious' spoiler.

I usually avoid this place on Sunday nights on a PPV night

and holy returns, batman! (Y) (Y)
looks like they are gearing up for Summerslam, the "Wrestlemania of the Summer"

TNA spoilers I don't really care about. Same for WWE unless if it was a major event. And people don't talk about indies or japan feds so whatever lol.

I generally tag things the first 24 hours after the event airs. Obviously things that have been taped and not aired should be tagged.

TNA is actually the biggest one for me. Raw is live here, and NXT and SmackDown air here before they air in the US, but we don't get Impact until Saturday nights. That said, I frequently just stop watching TNA for months at a time, so it's not that important.

While there's still plenty of room to mess it up, WWE might have a good thing going here with Rollins winning MITB and continuing to feud with Ambrose. It's a logical feud given the split, of course, and hopefully a good way to elevate Rollins, Ambrose and Reigns as singles competitors moving forward, but I also like the idea of doing something a little different with the MITB winner.

Looking back, MITB cash-ins have become quite predictable. Sure, there's a certain element of surprise, but they are often telegraphed by main event title matches ending well short of the end of the show, the briefcase holder not having a match on the event, and so on. 12 of the 14 winners have cashed in successfully, and usually the same way: the champ has just gone through a grueling match or been beaten down, the briefcase holder comes out, hits a finisher or two, and thus wins the belt.

I like the idea that they seem to be going with here, that Rollins will continue to be set up for easy cash-in opportunities, but Ambrose and Reigns will be constantly looking to spoil those plans. That gives Ambrose and Rollins a meaningful match at Summerslam, while probably setting up the heavily rumoured Reigns vs HHH match as well. Again, plenty of room to mess things up, but I think that's a good direction in the wake of Rollins' turn. Good workers, a good story...a good idea, as they continue to push the WWE Network and encourage existing subscribers to renew after their first six months is up.

Current WWE Diva Emma, real name Tenille Dashwood, was reported to be arrested in Hartford, Connecticut yesterday, the site of last night's episode of RAW.

It is being said that Dashwood was arrested for attempting to steal an iPod case from a Hartford Walmart, but this part of the story remains unconfirmed. What CAN be confirmed, however, is that she was taken into custoday and booked with a charge of sixth-degree larceny.

Word of the incident had been making its way around the internet, with people saying they saw the report on the local Hartford news. A copy of the Hartford police record, confirming the arrest and larceny charge, can be viewed on the Hartford.gov website police blotter under the "Arrest Log" tab. You can also view the specific section naming Dashwood's arrest in the image below:

Well, best of luck with her future endeavours, I suppose.

She was using the self checkout counter and bought $30 of other stuff and didn't scan the case

Just read that on WNW not long after I posted. Probably not going to be a big deal in the long run after all.

It's been a while since I posted here.

Tough luck with Daniel Bryan's injury. I hope it doesn't end up limiting his career like Edge( well he had his surgery back in 2003 and was able to wrestle for another few years but basically needed to retire because of his neck).

I am starting to like Bad News Barrett (especially his skit with Cody Rhodes in JBL and Cole show) but then another injury stopped his push. Hopefully he can recover and continue to get that push.

Speaking of Cody Rhodes, well I actually like his Stardust gimmick. It's something different and every gimmick that has been thrown to him has been really great.

Chris Jericho has returned... again. How many has it been? Like 3-4 times that he has return. It didn't really excite me and hopefully his feud with the Wyatts will be a great one since both can really speak on the mic.

AJ's back so wohoo! I find Paige really boring but since she is a heel now ( I guess with the double turn last monday?) she can be much more interesting. I haven't been able to follow NXT but people are saying that Paige is much better as a heel.

Rollins and Ambrose feud has been good so far. They need to improve Rollins entrance theme and his attire is meh. The only I don't get is why Reigns did pursue going for Rollins because of the betrayal but I guess he is up for a feud with HHH.

TNA is now 6-7 weeks ahead of themselves with taped TV episodes, so the August tapings will cover episodes for September and October, including the potential final episodes on Spike, if a new TV deal is not secured with the cable network.

Reading through the spoilers again and it really sounds like they killed it.

Major TNA Spoilers, Spoiler'd
Dixie getting her back broken legit from Bully/table
Dixie using WWECW people for those tapings to counter legit ECW people
In ring stuff was supposedly great
and evidently there weren't many swerves or feeble attempts at shocking people
and Lashley is playing the role of champ well I guess

Its always good to have competition, so I do hope this isn't the end of TNA on Spike. But it would be at least interesting if Spike dropped them for GWF, or if Spike kept them both on to have same-network rivalry between the two.

The problem was less that she was a babyface than that she was completely bland and having terrible two-minute matches which consisted of her getting beat up for the first minute fifty and then winning out of nowhere.

Give her a character and let her go out and have good, lengthy matches in which she's presented as being the best wrestler out there, and she'd get over. Heel or face.

Probably was work visa related. Maybe her being arrested caused problems with her work visa and she potentially would've been deported. I dunno.

Paige has been bland because of the way the Divas on the main roster are booked. Works for every Diva I guess. Summer Rae had some decent matches on NXT. So did Emma. Especially Emma's match vs Paige for the NXT Women's Title.

All of Paige's title matches were not interesting because of the way they were booked. I liked how there were different contenders for her title but the way they rush the storylines just don't work. Remember that Tamina match? The match was okay, but the referee botched it.

But I still find Paige very, very interesting. :cheeky:

Oh well it goes back to how the creative team books Paige. Terrible. Just saw some of his matches in NXT and she is very skilled... probably way better than the current Divas atm. Her finisher just looks so brutal.

Well she is very interesting Lean. If we are on the same Paige... :rimshot: :cheeky:

Watched TNA's Global Impact Japan One Night Only PPV today. I strongly recommend others do so, if for no other reason than that you'll come out of it with an appreciation for the quality commentary in WWE.

You'd think, given a storyline-free PPV taped months in advance, that you'd get actual wrestling commentary, since there's nothing else to talk about. Instead, you get lectures about Japanese crowds, and discussions about Japanese wrestlers, and Taz screwing everyone's names up, and saying that he may have wrestled in this building before, but he doesn't remember. And complaining about the photographers, and saying that it's rumoured two of the photographers will be in a match later because they 'have heat'. And complaining about the ref wearing yellow shoes, because it makes him stand out too much, except that it didn't until Taz went on abut it for five straight fucking minutes. End result, the ref gets nicknamed 'Yellow Boots Jones", or "LBJ". Because Japanese pronunciation.

Seriously, it actually devolved into flat-out racist mockery of Japanese accents on several occasions. It was by far the worst commentary I've ever heard on anything.

The wrestling itself seemed alright for the most part, apart from the match Abyss won via double disqualification, but it was very hard to tell due to the incredibly distracting commentary.

Seems like it's better than JBL's heel shtick when commentating.

It really wasn't.

I'm still trying to figure out if the best bit was "the Bro-Mans won the tag titles from the Bro-Mans without having to beat the Bro-Mans" or Taz suddenly saying "let's look at the replay. Boom! That was a heck of a move," despite there not being a replay of anything.
